Apple releases Security Update 2007-009 1.1

Apple has released Security Update 2007-009 1.1 for Mac OS X which is recommended for all users and improves the security of the following components:

– Core Foundation
– CUPS
– Flash Player Plug-in
– Launch Services
– perl
– python
– Quick Look
– ruby
– Safari
– Samba
– Shockwave Plug-in
– Spin Tracer

Security Update 2007-009 1.1 is available via Software Update and also as standalone installers.

  1. With continued reassurances from MDN that Macs are NOT subject to any security issues, bugs, worms, snakes, trojans, or other nasties… I will ignore this ‘update’ like I have all the others before.

  2. By what logic to you get from:
    Macs are far more secure than Windows
    to:
    Macs are 100% secure?

    If I told you that my car gets far better gas mileage than a Humvee fully loaded with passengers and luggage, would you assume that my car could go for thousands of miles on a gallon of gas?
