Report: Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard goes Gold

“Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard is now ‘finalized’ and… Apple has begun to provide Leopard-related support training materials to its support staff,” AppleInsider reports.

“The last full pre-release of Leopard arrived on September 21st, when Apple provided its vast developer community with Mac OS X Leopard build 9A559 in what was then assumed to be a release candidate,” AppleInsider reports. “A week later the company released a small automatic software update for build 9A559 but did not increase or otherwise change the Leopard build number as it had done in previous cases. Therefore, build 9A559 was the last known candidate to be declared Gold Master and released to manufacturing.”

AppleInsider reports, “All signs have pointed to a public release of Leopard during the business week of October 22nd, with sources specifically singling out October 26 for the official launch.”

  1. As annoying as the trolls are, when I see them out in force like this, it only reminds me of how awesome Apple is doing. The better and more popular their products, the more the Windowcreeps come out of the woodwork.

The more the trolls write, the more they flatter Apple. The more nasty and spiteful their words, the more they acknowledge the superiority of Apple’s products. Right now, Shoeman is essentially Apple’s biggest fan on the site (even if he does hate himself for it, for whatever unfortunate pathological reasons he might have).

    Can’t wait for Leopard!!!

  2. I put 9a559 on my Mac mini (1.5ghz with 1GB memory) last night and it was pretty peppy. Much better than the build from August (9a528 I believe). Didn’t run into any problems at all last night. I’m going to put it through its paces before the release so I can be ready to install it for my clients.

  3. Mindless pursuit of Bush gets most guys in trouble.
As to the bugs in Leopard, Apple is missing the advanced petrochemical agents that they can use in washington state.
Damn Cal EPA–no DDT or organophosphates–have to use enviro-friendly bug killing agents. nano-ladybugs and such. Makes the packaging not have that chemically smell when you open it though. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />
