Apple today released iMac Software Update 1.0 which provides important bug fixes and is recommended for 20-inch and 24-inch iMac models with 2.0, 2.4, or 2.8GHz processors.
System Requirements:
• Mac OS X 10.4.10
• iMac (Mid 2007)
iMac Software Update 1.0 is available via Software Update and also as a standalone installer.
More info and download link (5.1MB) here.
Is this for the brand new iMac’s? I hope not..
Apparently it only applies to the Mid-2007 iMac models introduced just yesterday!! Maybe an “MDN TAKE” should be added to point that out.
The new iMacs use the ATI Radeon 2400 XT or 2600 Pro video cards, both of which have HDMI output. See:

So where is the HDMI out? Also, with native processing of HD-DVD and Blu-ray, does this mean HD media is on its way soon to the mac?
MW: Sure, I sure wish I had some answers
I picked up my 20″ 2.4 Ghz iMac this morning from the Tulsa Apple Store… When I got it home and plugged it in the software update popped up after the initial setup was finished… In the midst of marveling at the beauty of my new machine (which is replacing my aged G3 Blue & White), I thought, “So soon?!?!?”
I can’t wait to get home from work to really put it through the paces and get everything transferred…
“So soon?!?!?”
His Steveness probably caught some bugs yesterday while demoing.

On the bright side, at least we know they are not asleep at the wheel…
My new iMac is snappier.

DUDE once again read your link.
You need to use a DVI to HDMI adaptor.
You are now getting to be a pain in the ass with this.
sorry
So soon? So great! Apple sent these machines into production a while back. They either found some bugs and/or made some sort of improvements after the production release. Some other software and hardware companies would have rested. Apple kept working. Paying attention to detail and the user experience. It’s the Apple way. So soon? So great!
Yes, Apple fixes issues because when something goes gold, it’s way before shipment.
GOOD FOR APPLE – they FIX shit that’s broke.
Quit whining you morons.
It’s a good thing.
I setup my son’s new iMac last night, and it’s the sexiest Mac ever.
Now, Boot Camp has been updated today to work with them!
Clamp up.

You must like your kid more than I like mine, he’s get my dual core 20″, and I am getting a new 24″
@ hotinplaya:
I guess I do! He bought it with HIS money, not mine!
All my kids have Macs, and now they’re buying them with their own cash.
I raised ’em right!
Single – as in not one SINGLE computer in my house is a PC!
lol
LOL, my son just turned 7, he and his 10 yo sister will get to have my 20″ in a few months, when I get the 24″ iMac
our 1st mac was the 20″ last July, got the oldest daughter in University a MacBook in December, 2nd oldest in March, and the wife in June
I still have the dell sitting in a closet, my plan was to give that to the kids, but after a week with the Mac, thought that was close to child abuse

what is your experience with the glossy screen, I see a lot of people bitching, but haven’t heard from any one that has used one??
