Parallels updates Desktop for Mac 3.0 (build 4560)

Parallels has released Desktop 3.0 build 4560, a free minor update to build 4128 (the first release of Desktop 3.0).

The new build includes a number of new features and improvements:
• Better customizability of SmartSelect for easier app/file integration

• Much smoother fullscreen transitions. No more flickering or lagging redraws.
• Improved Parallels Tools for Linux…we’ve added a Time Sync tool
• The return of the Parallels Image Tool!
• A beefed up Parallels Explorer that makes sharing files and working with non NTFS drives easier. Sharp new graphics too.
• More powerful Snapshot manager that gives you greater control over how snapshots are created and deleted.
• Minor tweaks and fixes

The update is available free via auto-update or you can download manually.

  1. This update, as documented in the Parallels forums, has caused a major issue for some users. Kernel Panic when trying to start the VM…suggest waiting until this issue is addressed…

    cheers

  2. Wow – MDN, way to be 3 days late on the news. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” /> Just a tease… this update installed without issue on my Core2Duo MacBook and it still runs like a champ. Much love to the Parallels crew!

  3. I bought Parallels because I think these guys are pushing the boundaries, it really is an incredible piece of software.

I find it amazing that I can run OS X, Windows XP, Ubuntu and Red Hat all at once on my little MacBook… I have no real need for this, but the fact it can be done so smoothly, all I can say is hats off to Parallels.

    My $0.02

  4. This is freaking hilarious… so you call parallels and they say, hit number 3 for technical support, and then it says, “that number is not available.”

Back in the customer support cue… I’m number 9 in line again… ARRRRRGHHHHHH

Friggin windows progs I have to use….. if ONLY there was a mac equivalent.

  5. I feel sorry for you, Jim-TV. Not because you had to wait on line for so long, but because you’ve obviously been indoctrinated by M$. A pure mac user would have used the term “apps” and not “progs”. Again, I feel sorry, and my prayers go out to you.
