  1. @Greg, I’m sure all the Republicans reading this thread value your advice on who to nominate. Personally, I’m PRAYING that Mrs. Bill Clinton gets nominated. The GOP could nominate Ron Paul and he would beat Mrs. BC.

The Dems think that Mrs. BC will bring out the women vote. Fine, it very well may, but it will also bring out another group who would prefer not to see the first communist in the White House.

It will be especially fun if Al Gore jumps in. Gore really gets along well with Mrs. Bill. /sarcasm

  2. @ Greg
    The future is bright.

    Translation:

If a Dimocrat gets elected, we can tax “rich” hard working people so I can continue to get free handouts, not work, and play on the Internet all day!!! (oh yeah, and get some “free health care”)..

Something for Nothing. I guess that’s a liberal’s idea of a “bright future”..

  3. I like Rush, don’t agree with him 100% but a hell of a lot more than the bleeding heart liberals.

Rush is one of the original public promoters of Apple. Even in the early years of his show, he was vocal about praising how great Apple is.

Agreed, you don’t hear public praise from Uncle Al Gore on the board do we?

  4. Smartacus (another right-winger with the wit of Oscar Wilde – not),

Let’s look at your deluded post bit by bit

I’m pretty certain that liberals DO love terrorists given that they aid and abet them at every turn

Presumably, you have proof of that – if so, where is it so that I might have my ignorance illuminated.

and believe that the erosion of civil liberties (c.f. kelo decision, EPA regulations, taxation without representation, open borders)

I don’t get the argument with Kelo – it’s alright for the Federal Government to use eminent domain to acquire property for the purposes of developing infrastructure which develops the broader economy, but its not acceptable for local government to do the same for its local economy.

At least New London were willing to use eminent domain to acquire powers of compulsory purchase and reserved $1.6 million to compensate the 15 owners involved.

Presumably, you’d be OK with it if were the Federal Government and they were just going to build a railroad or an airport or a military base or firing rage. Even the current President still thinks that’s acceptable as he ordered here. Or maybe you’d just prefer New London and other areas to be permanently blighted once they’ve fallen on hard times and you just carry on finding new land to build on until you’ve paved over the whole of the United States.

As for the rest of your nonsense, please explain to me how you are not represented: have you fallen into a strange new part of the US that doesn’t have a Representative or a Senator in Congress? Are you denied a vote? Or – as I suspect – were you represented between 1994 and 2006 by a Republican and you’ve suddenly woken up and the landscape has changed?

EPA regulations? Do me a favor – the EPA has been progressively emasculated since 2001 and you’re even whining about the minimal amount of protection that been left in place. You do realise that there is a difference between Detroit being encouraged to build more efficient engines and someone having their genitals mutilated, or is it all the same thing to you? ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”rolleyes” style=”border:0;” />

  5. the prosecution of illegal wars based on phoney intelligence (c.f. Bosnia war under Clinton) or the illegal rendition of suspects without due process (c.f. Libby case) is their preferred MO.

You do know that genocide and rape was happening in Bosnia? That wasn’t a war based on false intelligence, that was a war based on solid evidence and it is to Clinton’s credit that you can now walk around Sarajevo without the threat of having a Serbian sniper put a bullet in your head.

Put that in comparison to Iraq where you can’t go the market or to Friday prayers without making sure you make a will first.

Clinton’s actions bought Milošević, Tuđman and Izetbegović to the negotiating table at Dayton and subsequently created a stable Bosnia-Herzegovna, Bush’s actions have created chaos and anarchy.

Number of US military casualties since the Dayton Accord: 0
Number of US military casualties since “Mission Accomplished”: I’ve lost count

Yep, I can see how that’s the same

As for Libby, how exactly was he denied due process? Grand Jury (which is where the whole sorry mess started), subsequent trial by jury, found guilty, sentenced. Doesn’t sound like that different a process to that experienced by any other criminal (which he still is for the moment) except that his friends felt that the strictures of wearing a nice orange jumpsuit wouldn’t suit his skin coloring and gave him time off for good behavior.

As you bought up the subject, maybe you can explain how an employee of the Federal Government lying to a Grand Jury isn’t more of a crime than some brainless socialite violating the terms of her probation. If even Paris Hilton can manage 23 days in the slammer, I’m confused as to how Scooter Libby – who is a grown adult male with a fully developed moral compass (surely he must be or the Vice-President wouldn’t have hired him) – can’t be expected to serve, let’s say, 90 days before being sprung. How about 45 days? How about 23 so he’s at least punished as much as a ditzy 26-year old with the brains of a chipmunk?

Oh, fsck it – let’s just let Germ Boy off the whole tiresome business of checking into Club Fed and let him go home, he must have learnt his lesson.

If he was denied due process, that could be argued at his appeal and then he’d be exonerated and he leave the court without a stain on his character and GWB wouldn’t have appeared like a deer caught in the headlights. Instead – and I’m just spit-balling here – it appears that he’s had his sentence commuted so that he doesn’t start “singing like a canary”.

Do feel free to explain the reasoning as I need the entertainment.

  6. And why are there so many people around the world who hate the U.S.A?
Maybe it could have something to do with americans meddling in the affairs of other contries in order to secure oil for their hummers.
You guys deserve all the shit you get and then some. Letting bush go for another four years, he sure does wonders for world peace.
Just leave the middle east and maybe people won’t be so pissed at you for invading their country.

  7. Surely the people who enable the terrorists are the real ‘terrorist-lovers’; this would include Pelosi (c.f. Illegal Syria outreach trip, Harry “we lost the war” Reid, Jimmah “Hamas is my friend” Carter, Michael “Saddam was just trying to keep the trains running on time” Moore).

Gosh, is going to Syria really illegal? Best tell Condi Rice. Better yet, tell Representative Frank R. Wolf (who, taking the Republican Party whip, represents the Virginia 10th district) who visited Syria the same week as Pelosi (actually a few days before) and decided to have a meeting with the Grand Mufti of Damascus, Ahmad Badr Eddin Hassoun.

Hold on, Grand Mufti of Damascus, the same Grand Mufti who praised white supremacist David Duke when the sheet-wearing, cross-burning bigot (Duke, not Hassoun) decided to tour Syria last year.

Whilst we’re criticizing people for sitting down with Islamic nut-jobs, let’s also say a big hello to Representative Joseph Pitts (R, Pennsylvania 16th). And let’s also give it up for Robert Alderholt (R, Alabama, but I couldn’t care less what district) who went along to get the Frequent Flyer miles.

Let’s return to Dr Duke: David Duke was also lauded by Muhammad Al-Habash (a member of Syria’s parliament as well as a cleric who runs the country’s Islamic Study Center and who is viewed as the most popular representative of “moderate” (!) Islam in Syria, despite being sent back home after arriving in Washington last year, apparently because of his allegedly anti-Jewish sermons): “Dr. David Duke’s wonderful visit has given us a new and very positive view of the average American. . It is Israel that is America’s real enemy – as parliamentarian David Duke has proved.”

Remind me again, which party did David Duke stand with when he was elected a member of Louisiana House Of Representatives?

  8. Pelosi going to Syria was an act of treason. Going against US policy. It’s like Europe appeasing Hitler before WWII. If you idiots bothered to read that great article by a former terrorist it might give you some insite. Terrorist only respect and back down to a massive assault on them. Not appeasement. Here’s the article again: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=465570&in_page_id=1770
Also, you libs just don’t get it. Tax the rich and hard working to the point that what’s the point of working anymore to give to people who don’t work on purpose. You are going to ruin the world. Just watch.

  9. Emil go fuck yourself and your the rest of world hates the US. It doesn’t matter what the US does the rest of the world will always be jealous of it or ignorant of it. You wouldn’t have so many people constantly trying to get to the US if it was so bad. I can promise you the US is the best place to live in the world, period. I am very well traveled. Nothing beats the US. There are a lot of pretty places but none beat the US. However, liberals are doing their best to ruin the country.

  10. “NEW BRITISH PM: Don’t Say Terrorists are Muslims; Drops Phrase ‘War on Terror’…”

That says it all. After reading Jason Knight’s link reposted above and just common sense, it just goes to show the libs have no clue!!!!!!

  11. From 70% per cent of America and 99% of the rest of the world, go screw yourself. The Rethuglicans are lying, blood-drenched thieving scum whose comeuppance is going to be harsh and long-lasting. You, Blush Limpdick and the rest of the sewage will be flushed away and few will miss you. Have fun in hell.

  12. Pelosi going to Syria was an act of treason.

But revealing the name of a serving CIA operative is just a bit of humor. Still Bob, if it was treason by the person who is third in line to the Presidency, how about the Republican congressmen?

Going against US policy. It’s like Europe appeasing Hitler before WWII

Yeah, that’s a bit shaky: Prescott Bush, Harriman Bank, Thyssen. Appeasing Nazis before WWII as opposed to having a profitable relationship with them during WWII. Hmmm…

If you idiots bothered to read that great article by a former terrorist it might give you some insite. Terrorist only respect and back down to a massive assault on them. Not appeasement.

So that’s why we financed them and trained them. Great insite (sic)!

Also, you libs just don’t get it. Tax the rich and hard working to the point that what’s the point of working anymore to give to people who don’t work on purpose. You are going to ruin the world. Just watch.

Yep, that’s why the majority of hogs feeding at the Federal trough are the states which vote Republican. Why don’t you go and do some research instead of parroting the same old nonsense? You worry about your taxation being used to fund work-dodgers, whilst I worry about it being wrapped up in a big bag and given to Halliburton, Bechtel and their ilk.

The war in Iraq has so far cost well over $400 billion and climbing: in other words, it’s already cost over $1300 for every man, woman and child in the country. Your average two adults/two children family has already paid $5200 for this war, which strikes me as being a lot of money.

Of course, you seem pretty happy to spend the money of the 50% of the people who didn’t give this President a mandate for this war either before or after the event: given that they seem to be clustered in the states that contribute to the Federal budget, it would seem the people who don’t want the war are the ones paying for it and the people earning from the war are the ones who support it.

    Who’d have think it?

  13. By the way, can I just ask the Republican apologists why – if contact with Syria is illegal – why a Canadian citizen (Maher Arar) was illegally rendered by the US into the hands of the Syrian security services where he was systematically beaten and tortured for around twelve months.

Mr. Arar’s crime was to appear on a US watch-list and his misfortune was to change planes at JFK.

It would appear we trust the Syrians to do our outsourced torture, but not much else.

Feel free to try and justify this contradiction, once again I’ll enjoy the entertainment.

  14. Jack,

Not it isn’t and if you’d open your closed little mind for a day or two and stop filtering the views of Faux Noise, you’d realise that.

Special Counsel Fitzgerald stated in court papers:

“At the time of the initial unauthorized disclosure in the media of Ms. Wilson’s employment relationship with the CIA on 14 July 2003, Ms. Wilson was a COVERT [emphasis added] employee for whom the CIA was taking affirmative measures to conceal her intelligence relationship to the United States.”

Someone revealed that relationship. It wasn’t Plame. It wasn’t Wilson. Who was it?

  15. Ron,

Based on exaggerated intelligence that was politicised by this administration.

Thanks for playing “Let’s Remember The Lie That Started The War That Cost A Trillion Dollars”.

Bill > Why stop at Muslim terrorists? Let’s torture animal rights activists. Or members of the Ku Klux Klan. Or the Michigan Militia. Aryan White Pride? Actually, I don’t like the look of you so I think I’ll transport you to Uzbekistan where you can have your genitals mutilated and be sodomised with broom handles.

  16. Actually, I don’t like the look of you so I think I’ll transport you to Uzbekistan where you can have your genitals mutilated and be sodomised with broom handles.

Sounds like a typical Wednesday in the Bush Misadministration.
