With the eagerly-anticipated Apple iPhone almost here, Playboy.com is celebrating the glorious gadget with the launch of “iPlayboy,” a collection of multimedia features designed to turn up the heat on that cool, new phone.
iPhone owners may visit Playboy.com to download a free set of twelve sexy non-nude Playmate wallpapers, a separate photo album with twelve additional Playmate photos, a complete 1-hour episode of Playboy Radio’s “The Playmate Hour” (SIRIUS Satellite Radio # 198) with hosts Miriam Gonzalez (Miss March ’01) and Pilar Lastra (Miss August ’04) and a Playboy.com Cyber Girl video, all customized for the Apple iPhone.
“We have always tried to stay ahead of the curve by delivering the fun, sophistication and sexiness of Playboy to our fans on the newest and hottest media platforms,” said John D. Thomas, editor of Playboy.com, in the press release. “And with so much buzz surrounding the all-in-one Apple iPhone, we knew we had to develop something specifically designed just for this device.”

Yes, I beleive MDN did put out a story about porn and Bluray vs HDDVD.
I think this is tech news for two reasons:
1. It is content being offered specifically for the iPhone, not phones in general.
2. Wether you like porn or not, it is a huge business. Porn can make or break a tech product (i.e.- BetaCassettes)
Normally the porn-related news here on MDN brings out the funny people. Where are the funny people????

You’re right–this site doesn’t need to go there. Porn should not be considered “mainstream.” MDN is a private organization and is free to decide whether or not to promote it. Hope MDN reconsiders.

Ok, ok enough with the “VHS won because of porn” stuff. Of course it won it was cheaper and porn was mostly only available in a theater. But with VHS you could watch it at home cheaper than betamax.
But that is null and void now. Porn is freely available on the internet. And since the iPhone is very capable of internet browsing… you see my point. It’s the iPhone’s great internet features that will allow porn to be procured.
It’s cool that a big name like Playboy did this, but really it’s more of a publicity show than anything else. There are much prettier girls on the net who show more for less money. So as great as Playboy was it’s a little behind the times. But that’s just my opinion.
And I love the name calling by the people who don’t like porn. “Smut”, “trash”, “garbage”. May I remind you that “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”.
Each person’s opinion is his own reality.

app’s that block these sites, and secondly you don’t have to click on the link if you dont want to read this news, thirdly
with Web 2.0 there maybe a way to block or hide news of this type! If the user so chooses, another point to make is that even Walstreet J, NY,Times, Chicago SUN among other notable “Newspapers” & “Online” have always reported this type of news.

Most (nearly all) Playboy material is rated R, not X/MA. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it but please don’t judge those who do.
