Hello!
Oh snap. Someone link the ad!
Hey MDN,
The ad aired on CBS during 60 minutes. It was cool, showing Google maps in action. And yes, it did say coming June 29.
Can’t wait to see the ad…and get the phone.
This is huge because it’s a pocket mac! Excellent!
Seems the China delay was true. Boo hoo.
“It’s going to be a madhouse…. A MADHOUSE!!!”
Staring Steve Ballmer as Chief “MonkeyBoy” and his loveable sidekick MasterBates in the funniest show every released on television.
LOOK! UP IN THE iSKY, ITS A BIRD, IT’S A iPLANE
No silly, IT’S THE iMONKEY!!!
Watch him dance, watch him prance, watch him lurch for womens buttocks. IT’s the ONE AND ONLY MONKEYBOY!!
See the Monkeyboy get a iPhone, watch as he attmepts to use it for toilet paper!! Because MonkeyBoy is so primative, he sticks everything in his bottom!
Only available while supplies last, flush the Zune please.
Gosh darn it! I’ll be flying to Calgary that morning. Looks like I’m going to miss my chance to get in on the rush as I’m sure they’ll be sold out before I get back on July 3rd.
Hmm, who can I bribe to go stand in line…

Yep! I JUST saw a new AT&T/iPhone ad on TV. It said “Coming June 29th”! There it is!
————–
Was a good ad. Just this afternoon I read about the new ads coming, then later I look up and there it was!
iPhone FTW
It’s a pocket Mac
It’s NOT A pocket Mac!
It’s a phone WITH THE FEATURES OF OTHER PRODUCTS POORLY IMPLEMENTED.
1: 2 megapixel camera, doesnt’ replace a decent camera.
2: 8GB max can’t hold very much music and other things, so it’s a rather weak video iPod.
3: Processor is limited, so only widgets will run on it’s slimmed down version of Mac OS X. Not full apps, unless they were very small and turned into a widget.
4: If google web apps run in Safari on the iPhone, it’s going to tax it bad, storage will be a problem.
5: Games? iPod type games perhaps. Nothing approaching what a computer can do. Small widget games perhaps.
The iPhone is nothing close to a real computer.
Not yet. Perhaps later. Gome back gator bator. Red rocket, Red Rocket. Go Cartman Go.
MDW: “inside” I’m inside your subconcious right now and your not even aware of me.
Hello Again…
…and again and again and again
Hmmm… not sure if the ad instills that “lust factor” in me.
Looks like “Pacific Catch” might be getting a few more calls for their seafood. I wonder if they saw or heard this coming?
Check again man.
Well, Private Joker, Gimme your War Face, I don’t care what you say. I’m still getting one.
So there!
Macdude is back as-
“Private Joker, Gimme your War Face”
Aaaaa, these ads are perfect! I want an iPhone!!
DAMN! I just watched all 3 ads ( a few times) on the Apple site and I’m thinking I won’t be able to wait for the second gen. version. I hate Apple. Now, thanks to their lust inducing, reality distortion field, I will, like an APPLE Zombie, walk into a store on June 29 and pay $500 for a device that will be SO limited compared to the 2nd gen version that I won’t be able to afford because I’ll still be paying for the oh so limited first gen. one that I just HAD to have! Damn you Apple! Someone help me. I told myself I would not get it until it had GPS and more memory at the very least. HELP! Anyone want to buy a first gen. 5gb iPod that I bought 5 yrs ago?
Anyone notice that right away with the iPhone, they show the product actually being /used/!!!! Unlike, oh… I don’t know… OSX! Yeah. A lot of us have been saying it for a long time… show OSX and what it can do. Now, they’re doing it with iPhone. Is OSX Leopard next?
Actually, the iPhone is in fact a lot closer to a “big Mac” than to an ordinary iPod, despite the deceptive outward similarities.
It obviously has hardware-accelerated 3D graphics as evident from Cover Flow and other animations.
It also has significant amounts of RAM.
It runs an adapted version of MacOS X.
What the real flash capacity of the finished product will be is still unclear – it seems quite possible that it will be higher than the numbers announced months ago.
Underestimating both the capabilities and the market impact of the iPhone would be quite unwise…
Darkness: “Hmm, who can I bribe to go stand in line…”
There’s already a line.. a BIG line. Just the 1 store I signed up with my family for a new contract with AT&T/Cingular, there was already over 100 people in line as of over a week and a half ago.
That’s just ONE store, and there’s well over 50 in the LA/OC area.
It’s probly already too late to get one on launch day, but if you still want one, go to all the AT&T stores in your area and ask how many people are in line, maybe you can still get lucky.
Forget getting one on launch day if you’re not already on a wait list.
Doubt you’ll get one in the first 4 weeks if you aren’t already on a wait list. I’m not sure even I’m going to get one on launch day.
Just my 2c.
You know I was just rewatching all 3 adds, and I just noticed something.. unlike the iPod.. the iPhone ads just show the device in action. This thing sells itself, it’s its own ad.
And I’m already sold. It’s truly a statement how amazing this thing is that just seeing one can make someone want one.
It both says how great the iPhone is and just how bad everything else is.
iPhone, you had me at “hello”
wow
Love the ads. Momentarily felt the lust then it faded. Will still wait for Gen 2 because the real lust for me is for a new laptop.MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. I feel warm and fuzzy thinking about it. Mmmmmmm.
Why not June 1, June 11, or June 15??? Why the second to last day of the month? I’ll tell you why, because Apple is like Molasses in January releasing new products. They no longer have credibility. Zilch for 2007 except for a few meaningless speed bumps and vaporware. What a shame.
Can you say “instant gratification”?
I thought you could…
Launch day is going to give Apple, so much exposure!!
You know its going to be the “News” of the day!!
Why not June 1, June 11, or June 15??? Why the second to last day of the month? I’ll tell you why, because Apple is like Molasses in January releasing new products. They no longer have credibility.
LOL. Perhaps you’d prefer five years of “rescheduling” instead, like Windows Vista? Yes nothing like credibility and vaporware…
It’s amazing. Today people are bitching about the wait. After release people will be bitching about some artistic flaw, wondering why Apple didn’t put more time into iPhone. Apple can’t win!
As for the release date, I’d say it has everything to with getting the pipeline filled. How disastrous would a major rollout be with no product in the stores? Or just as bad, a rollout with each store only having a few units to sell?
You only have once chance to do an introduction. An extra 15 days to get it right seems reasonable to me.
