Five reasons why Apple’s iPhone is better than the rest

“Having now wandered in the wilds of various cellphones over the last few months, I am re-reminded why Apple’s iPhone is underestimated. I have a Palm Treo 700, a Research in Motion Blackberry 8800, and a Samsung TV phone, and they all suck,” Paul Kedrosky writes for SeekingAlpha.

Kedrosky lists five things that bug him about the above mentioned trio, and that favor the iPhone:

• Mobile browsers are awful
• Touch screens rule
• Big screens rule
• Mobile fonts are #$%!
• Mobile interfaces are thoughtless

  1. Hmmmm, While I am seeing a lot of “new” features coming out for cell phones these days (I am sure they are in response to the iPhone) the big thing everyone is saying is that the interface and functionality is crap. Its a pretty car but it dont run. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />

Apple, It just works. Battle cry of a new generation (and an older one. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” /> )

  2. Handle thieves are Microsoft astroturfers. They only grab the handles of those who make the most sense and hurt the Microsoft cause by posting the truth.

Most negative remarks from people who should know better are from astroturfers in disguise.

  3. Just like every geek thought the Diamond MP3 player way back at the begining of the MP3 revolution was designed just fine.

Then the iPod came along and everyone said, “Wow, looking for songs is so easy on that, why don’t the others do that?”

    Another example:

Unix: For many past years most awsome OS but only if you were a geek/expert with the command line. (you neubies on OS X, just drop into terminal for some history lessons).
Then along comes Apple and makes a pretty, user friendly front end for Unix that the everyday user can understand.

15 years ago if you told a Unix geek that a unix OS would start to take over the home desktop market they would have laughed in your face.

  4. You are all getting what you deserve: With your craptacular OS X seeing more and more popularity, so too will you now have to deal with what we superior Windows® users have had to deal with — Actually using a populated and busy web blog with pseudo=posters and posuers galore!

I know that must be “shocking” to you Macgoons, but, you know . . . Welcome to the Social™.

    MacDipshits.

  5. @ (the real) ChrissyOne

Do ya think it’s really ChrissyTwo impersonating you?.. She’s prolly still pissed at what you said to her last week ! ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”LOL” style=”border:0;” />

  6. I’ll tell you where Zune market share is: THROUGH THE ROOF! Who hasn’t seen Zunes on the subway, at the gym, on the bus to and from school…they’re everywhere!

Microsoft has a winner and Apple knows it, hence the vaporware iPhone nonsense. Apple obviously doesn’t have an answer for Zune so they flood the media with news of a non-existent, buggy at best, might ship in 3 years iPhone toy that can’t even run Microsoft Office. Useless.

    Your potential. Our passion.

ChrissyOne: I know what it is like to be victimized by imposters and I feel your pain. MDN trolls can be so cruel.
