“There’s a very large lake in Northern Utah that has almost as much salt as should be necessary for this rumor, but as it comes from one of our people from Apple behind the lines, there’s a chance that we might see some of these details in the future,” Matt Hickey reports for CrunchGear.
Hickey reports, “While checking the validity of a totally different unsubstantiated rumor, our contact dropped something of a bomb on accident. When asked if he or she could confirm our rumor (which we’ll get to later today), he or she responded that he or she saw something about it in an email, but didn’t read it, as it didn’t pertain to his or her job, and was late for a meeting at the time. I asked what kind of meeting, and he or she said, ‘Licensing for the iPhone.'”

NO WAY IN HELL!
Licensing for the iPhone NOT licensing of the iPhone. English folks.
Apple may have 200 patents in the iPhone, but they will be licensing more than a couple of technologies from other people, not to mention the name from Cisco.
And in other news, the world will likely continue to spin at it’s normal pace today.
Of course Apple is going to license this technology. They may not license it to direct competitors, but I could see some interesting microwaves in the future

Wow, that’s a long way to go on just a little bit of rumor. Licensing for the iPhone could mean MANY things aside from granting someone a contract to build one. I’ll wait for more truthiness.
What does that statement have to do with the OS on the iPhone?
It could be about the carriers or licensing the ability to develop for the platform…
” . . . our contact dropped something of a bomb on accident.”
What?!? Dropped something “ON accident”? “ON” accident”?!?
Shouldn’t that be “BY” accident?
Learn to write correctly, Matt.
F-ck licensing. And f-ck Pelosi too.
Bullcrap of the first order.
This is unbelievable.
There is a lake in Utah?
I think Google should pay me licensing fees… after all, Ive been using that word for years !!
I own it, and Im not giving it back !!

</sarcasm>
Actually, licensing OS X 10.phone to other companies is not necessarily a bad thing. All those phones running an OS X variant…. and they all play nice with THAT computer.

“…This is unbelievable.

I dunno, I thought they moved it to Minnesota a few years back !
‘I dunno, I thought they moved it to Minnesota a few years back !’
no, that was the Colts-er-Cardinals
Oh, and f-ck San Francisco and everyone in it for their anti-American acts of sh!ttery.
Apple shoud pull out of that rathole.
The only people “licensing” anything in the iPhone are other Apple divisions
“Apple shoud pull out of that rathole.”
I agree. Too many frickin’ hills, anyway.

So.. where did the Vikings come from, then ?
Oh! never mind … I know … Somewhere in Scandinavia .. right ?
Careful Alfie..
your mommie might catch you using her computer !!
If you had any brains, you’d know that Apple got started
in a garage in Santa Clara, then moved to their diggs in Cupertino…
Both places are a helluva walk to San Fran !!
Bozo !
Buck Fush. And Rush. Apple is in the right place.
If true, that would crush Windows CE (Mobile) in one fell swoop.
How can anyone “confirm a rumour”? Surely when you confirm a rumour it is then fact, or do you take “yes, that is a rumour” as a confirmation of a rumour? But then it wouldn’t be a rumour, it would just be wrong…
Bizarre.
Oh, and by the way, Apple are a hardware company. If the “rumour” doesn’t fit in to the idea of Apple selling more hardware (Macs, iPods, iPhones, AppleTVs) then it is just crap. It is a simple but accurate test.
‘So.. where did the Vikings come from, then ?

Hello! Ever heard of Spain? Does 1492 ring a bell?

Columbus was a Viking ??
Damn !! .. Ya learn sumptin’ every day, huh ?
This sounds like a canary trap, someone is getting canned asap.
It’s probably for licensing a stripped down version of the iPhone operating system so that developers (who pay of course) can develop their own widgets for the iPhone.
There’s no way that Apple would license something this important
@ Alfie
Just curious, where do you reside?
Coming from the bay area (also known as the homeland for Apple) and have had the priveledge of traveling the country on tour with a hip hop show, I’d say the Bay is one hell of a place to be.
