  1. “According to some reports Vista is selling well in the post Christmas market, especially the more expensive editions.”

    What do you expect in Oz? They’ve always been upside down Or is that backwards? Especially in St Kilda.

  2. But the poor bastard fed the shredder a NEW version of Vista. You watched him unwrap it, right? Meaning it wasn’t the same disk he used at home, and he bought another disk just for shredding purposes (and probably expensed it). Meaning Micro$haft made bucks anyway.

    Vista. The Yawn has dawned.

    MW: “lead” me to OS X!

  3. Reminds me of that old line I read awhile back…which I will update.

    If you play the Windows Visata installation DVD backwards, you will hear satanic voices.

    But that is nothing, if you play it forward, it installs WINDOWS.

  4. This guy is good. He was able to find a driver for the machine to make it Vista compatible. Others will experience this:

    1) Feb 07, 2007 – Install Vista –> blue screen of death
    2) Feb 12, 2007 – Try to reinstall XP –> blue screen of death with crunching noises
    3) Feb 21, 2007 – Buy a Mac –> Chunnggg!

    MW: “Come” to the Social.

  5. I was just loading my new 80gb iPod and thought Apple should have a little battery indicator in iTunes. Tucked away into a corner somewhere, something to tell me when it’s fully charged without having to look at the iPod screen itself.

    Just a thought.

  6. Let us ponder….

    Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Enterprise, and Windows Vista Ultimate
    • 1-gigahertz (GHz) 32-bit (x86) processor or 1-GHz 64-bit (x64) processor **(What….4 years back?)
    • Windows Aero-capable graphics card **(Oh but then a special graphics card…that the NEED to list..)

    Note This includes a DirectX 9-class graphics card that supports the following: **(don’t even want to think about this crap)
    • A WDDM driver
    • Pixel Shader 2.0 in hardware
    • 32 bits per pixel
    • 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum)
    • 40-GB hard disk that has 15 GB of free hard disk space (the 15GB of free space provides room for temporary file storage during the install or upgrade.) **(When the hell did we need 15GB of “temporary file storage during the install or upgrade process……riiiggghhhhttttt)
    • Internal or external DVD drive
    • Internet access capability
    • Audio output capability

    OR…….

    Requirements

    * Macintosh computer with a PowerPC G3, G4 or G5 processor (Up to 8 YEARS OLD!)
    * Built-in FireWire
    * DVD drive for installation
    * 256MB of RAM
    * 3GB of available hard disk space (4GB if you install the developer tools)

    Ahh, the simplicity. I have Tiger on a 4GB HD on a 333MHz PowerBook (Lombard) and it works fine. Yeah, it’s not as pretty as an Intel or even a powerpc for that matter….BUT IT WORKS.

  7. HA HA. Chortle chortle, LOL.

    To upgrade to Vista:

    1. Make sure you have the minimum system requirements. If not, upgrade as necessary.

    2. Make sure you have the latest Vista drivers for equipment found in step 1.

    3. Make sure you have the latest software patches to fix everything that Vista breaks when you load it.

    4. Load Vista.

    5. Pray.

    To Upgrade to Leopard:

    1. Insert DVD. Follow on-screen instructions.

    MDN MW – “second”, as in “Wait a second, why am I even bothering with Vista, I should just buy a Mac!!”

  8. Y’now what? There’s a Vista ad sitting next to this box. I click it. ‘Cause I wanna see the WoW! Start Now, y’know. So I click compare XP Pro to Vista. Y’now? ‘Cause I wanna see what I’m missin’. XP Pro don’t do nothin’. I mean NO THING! Vista’s got all these little check marks and balls and squares and geographical thingies and XP’s got two little zeroes under it’s name. And it made me think, “Damn! I gotta get me some of this!” And then I realized, “Damn! I don’t need this crap. I got a Mac!” Whew! I got all that and more! And what do I need with Windows SuperFetch? What does it do? I’ll tell you, right from the sight: “SuperFetch helps ensure that the computer and the open programs resume quickly from Sleep state.” Why do I need that? C’mon now, this is a feature to crow about? Vista ain’t nuthin’ but a raw-skinned punk with rag-tag droopy-drawers pickin’ blisters on his backside. Man! For the love of God and all that’s holy in heaven and on Earth, get a fsckin’ Mac already.
