Obviously, Apple’s iPhone message has quickly and rather easily broken through to the general public!

  1. How could some of those people who commented think that this was supposed to be real lol. I thought this was funny. Even Madtv gets it and is obviously making fun of all the people who are going bashing the hell out of the iphone before they even have one to mess with.

  2. You guys thought these sketches were funny?

Well maybe a bit humourous but pretty juvenile.

All I likes was MadTV’s “iPod ON” with the Mac chime.

After that it just got daft.

    Oh well.

    Maybe the next sketch will actually be funny ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />

  3. Yep, MadTV won that round since it was actually clever and not just an unfunny rehash of the unveiling. Definitely tweaked “The Cult of Mac” / “Steve Jobs is God” angle in a funny way. Plus, the host was cuter. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />

  4. The interesting thing is, these skits only work because, well, their target audiences know SJ as a rockstar, and have likely even watched the keynote.

Apple is REALLY at the top of its game in the free publicity department. Conversely, there are plenty of teens and 20-somethings who have not even heard of Zune.

All that and a billion for last quarter’s net. (That’s with a ‘b’).

Man, it’s gotta be good to be Apple right now.

Please, everyone, talk s–t about them and drive down that stock price. Last summer it hit the 50s… can we get it back down to the 60s? Ka-ching!

Remember, when you REALLY believe in a company, you want the stock price down… it can always go up later. =)

  5. The MadTV skit was hilarious. Brought a whole new angle to the Cult of Mac and Steve’s RDF.

Was there ever a product announcement that penetrated the general public’s consciousness as thoroughly as the introduction of the iPhone? This is just further proof how succesful the keynote speech was.

  6. God, SNL blows- that was just awful. I did not even crack a smile.

At least the MadTV skit can be construed as satire on both Jobs and the iLemmings. Not too bad.

These days, SNL is just lame, and MadTV tries far too hard to be edgy and nasty.

A sad state of affairs. I’m rather amazed they are both still on the air, but the networks must have no alternatives. I wonder- have they ever watched THE DAILY SHOW?
