ZDNet online poll shows overwhelming Apple iPhone lust

Russell Shaw of ZDNet’s “IP Telephony, VoIP, Broadband” blog is running an online poll.

If I could have a free Apple iPhone or BlackBerry Pearl, I’d want:

• Apple iPhone (84%)
• BlackBerry Pearl (6%)
• Reserve judgement until I can try both (6%)
• Neither. Both are toys (2%)
• Some other gizmo (2%)

  1. “Kiss any kind of statistical relevance goodbye now.”

Yeah, John, that’s what I was going to say. There is no such thing as an honest online poll that relates to an Apple product anymore.

    But that’s OK with me.

  2. My take on this survey:

-Was probably accurate within the first hour of web posting.

-became totally bogus as word start spreading among the Mac faithful websites.

-Mac worshippers all started logging their preference (which of course is iPhone or anythin Apple for that matter).

-Survey became totally useless or invalid as website is logging 95% Mac worshippers.

  3. Consider this, Apple introduces a new device that is similar to, but not exactly like the iPhone, and has some unique features or functions that differentiates this new device from the iPhone. Now, Apple finds another telecommunications partner. Apple leverages its new devices when making business relationships. I can assure you that the subsequent device has been discussed, specs defined, designs imagined, and business partners analyzed and evaluated.

  4. I appreciate the response… but either my reading skills are very weak, stupid or I’m just paranoid.. what I was alluding to was this part “…….. For years.” Like you’re locked in with cingular for years, vs the fact that it is a TWO year contract… not YEARS. It seemed as if the author was making the iphone married to cingular forever. Even Apple said that in ’09, that the arrangment with cingular will be over, at least in its present form. see what I mean?
