  1. I initially had trouble connecting to my access point at speeds above 11MBit/s. Since the upgrade it’s now possible to use the full bandwidth. Sensitivity and link stability also seem to have gone up.

So it does seem to have had a positive effect for me. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />

  2. my C2D MBP frequently dropped connection to my Airport Express, but only when using WPA encryption (WEP would work reliably). The problem was 100% repeatable, so I gave up on WPA. Now after the update, everything appears to be working well even with WPA2 – no dropped connections so far.

so for me, it seem to be an improvement

  3. Update what update?

I have just run Software Update from the Apple menu and as it did its check it came back telling me that my software is already up-to-date.

Software Update was run on a Macbook 13.3″ 2.0 Core 2 Duo with automatic updates/install disabled.

I will try again later just in case there is a demand issue on Apple’s servers.

If so I wonder whether this is a sign of the times with the tremendous rise in popularity for Apple Computer, Inc? Good in many respects, but this has its caveats.

    No complaint of course!

  4. This is all well and good BUT…

I wanna know when Apple is gonna release an update that extends the wifi range for Intel Macs!

Since getting my MacBook Pro my wireless adsl range has halved – even with using an additional external antenna!

  5. what about us core duo mbp-ers? my mbp’s wifi is a joke: four bars one second, one bar the next, off the next. there’s a mile-long thread (one of several) on this issue over at the apple discussions page.

a $2,500 ‘pro’ laptop that can’t surf wirelessly? it’s an absolute f*cking joke.
