A visit to Apple’s iTunes Music Store currently shows the following:
Note: that the word “Music” is not being used by Apple in the temporary message above. Apple refers to it as simply “iTunes Store” (as we have been doing fro some time when discussing video and TV shows since it sounded silly to write about, for example, watching “Lost” via the iTunes Music Store).

apple/store is still up tho…
How about the “iTunes Media Store”
music store is up. but the video section is showing this message
They better have more content than Disney and ABC made for TV movies.
“Tower Records” sells movies too.
iTunes 7.1

Does MDN’s take imply they are Lost fans? Can’t wait till season 3 starts in October….
It’s so silly how everyone with a blog or is a real jounalist harps on the word “music” in the ITMS.
Why the onsession over taking this store name so litterally?
Did everyone complain how Tower Record’s hadn’t sold ONLY records, but CD’s and DVD’s?
Coconuts sells…??? You guessed it, and it’s not coconuts (in NY)
Border’s Books and Music ALSO sell… DVD’s, go figure.
Anal writers think they’re so much smarter than who they write about.
looks like it wont download 7.1. It just gives the old 6
Hate to rain on the parade folks – but it is all down. I was downloading podcasts at the. I was able to see the home page when hitting the back buttons, but ALL options were blacked out. when I relaunched iTunes, teh entire sote was inaccessible.
Boy, I thought we would have more informed and thorough users that don’t make assumptions. Attention to details people please.
Sorry, early morning, baby was fussy all night and there is not enough caffeine in the world right now. It will be a long day – this event better be good!
Ciao
It cannnot be accessed from The Netherlands.
How about other parts of the world?
Man – I need to wake up. I have not seen this many typos since junior high school.
Even more interesting…

Look at the column at the bottom left. They have movies for sale. Clicking on this brings up a window with “It’s Showtime The iTunes Store is being updated”
Based on the url for the window that it brings up (includes “showtime”) I would think that this is the brand they are going to use.
Yup, its closed here in the UK also.
In Australia its shows the ‘Its Showtime’ message aswell with no access to any media.
Regarding iTunes 7.1 – And when you try a Software Update from the Apple Menu it says your software is “Up to date…” (Assuming you have the latest version of version 6.)
It’ll probably be up today.
So, whatever they announce later today is going to be a global event on all the itunes stores in all the countries – and not just the USA!
Global simultaneous launch of movie downloads!!
woohoo!!!
Hey people, That download is for QuickTime 7.1, not iTunes 7.1. That’s nothing new….
That column at the bottom left is for movie TRAILERS just as it’s always been. Wake up! Nothing new has been posted yet!
Even if it is “just” Disney movies, Disney also owns
Touchstone Pictures
Hollywood Pictures
Miramax Films
Pixar Studio
..and that would be a very nice and impressive start.
This url has always said:
“Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access /movies/ on this server.”
http://www.apple.com/movies/
..instead of going to a more proper “Looking for something at Apple.com?” page…
I predict the name of the new iTunes Music Store will be “Showtime”.
Now that I think about it.. it fits..
Quicktime
Showtime
Hmm.. Good karma?
Yes.. Showtime Movie Channel would be upset.. but you got to admit, if I’m right (and Apple lawyers have worked it out with sho.com) then “Its Showtime” is a pretty cool play on words.
Did anyone else get a download when they clicked on the ITMS before it gave you the offline message?
