Both the NewerTech miniStack USB2 and the miniStack V2 solutions add hard drive space while decreasing desk/cord clutter in a Mac mini-matching 6.5( x 6.5( x 1.5( footprint.   1. I have just spent most of my evening puging the video conent from the meagre 250GB HDD on my iMac(when I bought the iMac, this drive seemed huge).

    I think it is time I invested in some more storage, but will be waiting until the Sept 12th announcement before I decide which is the best route to take (i.e Firewire drives or networked storage)

  2. They work great and look great even without a Mac mini to stack on top. I have one sitting on top of a Power Mac G5 for use as backup storage. The concept of a hard drive external case that doubles as a hub for USB and Firewire is very useful. And it has intelligent features like automatic power-on/off when the Mac is off or sleeping. Amazingly, it’s smaller than most 3.5″ external drive cases.
