Samsung debuts 8GB music, video phone

“Samsung Electronics has developed a music-player cell phone with 8GB of built-in flash memory–that’s double the amount of memory in Apple Computer’s hit iPod nano,” Martyn Williams reports for IDG News Service.

“The SCH-B570 can store about 1600 MP3 music files or about 16 movies,” Williams reports. “The phone, which was announced on Tuesday, will go on sale in South Korea shortly.”

  1. I’ve said it once and I’ve said it a thousand times.

    Apple will NOT get into the mobile phone market, if they do their iditots.

    Since Apple is not idiots, Apple isn’t getting into the mobile phone market.

    Apple has to rely upon third party companies to create phones, their markup is too high.

    I can get free phones for just signing up a new contract.

    I can go on and on…

    Why can’t things have names rather than numbers. We are people, not robots – that name really trips off the tongue!

  3. Ampar, actually it’s powered by static electricity: just keep shuffling your feet on the carpet while you talk. Stop moving and the phone goes dead. (Upside: no exploding batteries to worry about and you’re in better shape from all that moving. Downside: you need to get new carpet every few months and using the phone out doors requires you to keep a bunch of fur in your pocket.)

    Some of the more hirsute men and women can make slits in their pants pockets for quick access to lots of fur.
