Don’t steal music (accessories from Apple Retail Stores)

“I read a story last year that implied Apple Computer was lax on security at its retail stores. Don’t you believe it. When the new MacBook was announced Tuesday, with immediate availability, I headed for the downtown San Francisco store to buy one up so we could review it here at CNET. As usual, the store was crowded, and some employees were setting up some display models of the new machines,” Scott Ard blogs for CNET. “As man strode directly in front of me, stooped down to the floor and appeared to tuck a few boxes of iPod accessories into a coat that was too large and thick for the balmy weather.”

“He headed straight for the door, where a white-shirted Apple employee stepped in front of him, while another lined up behind him. When the white shirts removed the boxes from under the man’s jacket coat, he attempted to run toward the main drag of Market Street. If the coat had been less bulky and prone to tearing, he probably would have gotten away. But it served as a convenient lasso that four people eventually used to drag him down and haul him back into the store, sight unseen, but likely somewhere close to where those MacBooks were sitting on pallets marked Top Secret,” Ard writes. “The moral of the story: It’s a bad idea to attempt any shenanigans at an Apple retail store on the day a big, new product is released.”

    Get ready………………..
I have a friend who is president of his homeowner’s association down in Washington. They are having a terrible problem with trash on the side of the road that is around his association’s homes. The reason according to Wallace (my friend) is, there is being built just next to them, six new homes…..big ones! Wallace said the trash is coming from the Mexican work crews working at the construction sites. (McDonald Bags, Burger King trash, etc). He has pleaded with the site supervisors and the general contractor to no avail, called the City, County, the Police and got no help. So………………guess what some people in his community did?

They organized about twenty folks, named themselves The “Inner Neighborhood Services” to go out at lunch time and “police” the trash themselves. It is what they did while picking up the trash that is HILARIOUS !!!!!!!!

They got some navy blue baseball caps and had the initials “INS” in gold put on the caps. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist, however, to understand what they hoped people would think it means.

Well the day after their first pick up detail, with them wearing their caps and some carrying cameras; 46 out of 68, of the construction workers did not show up for work the next morning!!!!!!!!………….and haven’t come back yet!!!!! It has been ten days.

Now the General Contractor, I understand is madder than hell, but can’t say anything publicly, because he could be busted for hiring “illegal aliens”. Wallace and his bunch can’t be accused of impersonating INS folks, because they have it on their home owner association records the vote to form the new committee within their association, plus they informed the INS about what they were doing in advance, and the INS said basically according to Wallace…………..”have at it”!

SO FOLKS, I THINK YOU COULD SAY THAT YANKEE INGENUITY TRIUMPHS AGAIN!!!!!!!

  2. one time the internet on the mbp wasn’t working, so I tried unplugging the ethernet cable and pluging it back in again. But when i unplugged it, a huge alarm when off and they had to disarm it.

    whoops

  3. Two spanish fuckwits have just stolen my daughters handbag in barcelona it held her new nano etc. Can apple disable this ipod? Help!!

I take offense that you imply all spanish speaking people are thieves.

Next time I advise leaving the racial and ethical undertones out of your comments.

Since I had a answer for you, a phone number of a person you could call to track the iPod down, I all of a sudden forget.

    Too bad, prick.

  4. mudflapper: You’re a dimwit. End the largesse and welfare state mentality that this country allows to continue, and our OWN lazy citizens will take those jobs just fine, a-thankyouverymuch.

Oh, and contractors like this scumbag in DC will actually, you know, have to hire AMERICAN CITIZENS AND PAY THEM A LEGITIMATE WAGE in order to build those f-cking homes! WHAT, you think American workers and contractors who hire AMERICAN CITIZENS didn’t bid on that job in DC? If so, you’re an idiot.

    Secure the f-cking border. NOW!!!!!

  5. Good for Apple, stopping this potential thief! And, “Hey Mikey”, I don’t think Ron was being racist with his comments. He was clearly in Barcelona at the time of the theft, which implies that the thief was…..Spanish! I was in Barcelona last fall and watched an attempted purse-snatching unfold in front of me. The guy who’s girlfriend’s purse was almost snatched was WAY TOO lenient on the guy who just dropped the purse and then walked away. I would have beat his Mother-F@CKin’ a$$ into the curb. Sorry, but that’s just me.

nope.. they can’t. But they can inform you if they try and register it as their own or get service for it. That’s how Kevin Costner got his powerbook back when it got stolen. Inform apple with the serial # that it was stolen. And ignore “hey mikey”… he doesn’t understand you wern’t refering to all spanish people, just the two that stold your daughters nano.

  7. What’s wrong with just mentioning the culprits were “locals”? or of “spanish origin?”

Why does ethnicity even have to enter the picture?

I have encountered thieves of all races, religions, sexual orientation and ethnicity.

Some of a particular group thieve more than other groups, but not all of a group thieve and no group is without thieves.

So without thieving, it’s best to control ones verbal response as not to offend those of a group who in fact are thieving better that the ethnic group mentioned.

Do you understand, AM I MAKING SENSE!!!

  8. @Cubert “Cubert (currently trains in MMA) The UFC Rules!”

I love MMA and the UFC (none of that fake WWE shit)! Why they ever dropped Ivan Salaverry I will never know. He was probably my favorite fighter. Extremely versatile. Excellent submissions. Did you see when he fought Joe Riggs? Joe Riggs was saying it was going to be over in 20 seconds. It took about 2 minutes (first round), but Salaverry kicked him squarely up the chin and locked him into a head-triangle, dropped some elbows on him and then pulled back on his head and Riggs was forced to Tap-Out. Salaverry totally humiliated Riggs. Ahhhh it was beautiful. He also tore through Tony Frykland in 96 seconds by a figure-foreward body lock nearly cranking his back out. Tony was seriously hurting after that. Figure-foreward body locks are illegal in collegiate wrestling because of this – you can damage someone’s back permanently. Not in the UFC though. It’s real fighting – Greek Pankration style!

Damn! I was also going to link to the Randy Couture fight clips highlights, but they took it off his site. WTF? Googled around for a bit and couldn’t come up with it. I’ll try later. Couture retired early this year and is a LEGEND in the UFC. Most decorated champ EVER!
