  1. Don’t know if you have Intel version or not but… I have the same issue with my 20″ iMac G5 occasionally when I run OS9 apps. Running Activity Monitor to see which application is taking all my CPU cycles I notice it is something called TruBlueEnvironment. For whatever reason this app stays running sometimes after OS9 has ended and really sucks up the processor. Stop running classic and if it doesn’t end that process, kill it through Activity Monitor and you will see instant relief.

Is this update going to mess up the firmware that I installed to run BootCamp? Anyone know?
    >>

BootCamp is unaffected – However- If you use Parallels VM (beta6)- You will need to run the install again – takes 45 seconds. No- you don’t need to reinstall your virtual OS’s.

  3. Does anyone know exactly what boot issues this addresses? I have a MacBook Pro and Mac Mini Intel and have not noticed any issues. Also does this include the boot camp firmware update as well since I have not applied that to my mini either.

  4. Does anyone know if this solves the problem with the Intel iMacs where they intermittently won’t boot up properly? You only get a static-like screen on the monitor – exactly as you do the first time you boot one up out of the box, only that first time it goes away and then boots normally. This happens only intermittently (once or twice a month) and can only be solved by powering down and then restarting.

P.S. Not asking for myself – asking for a friend. I use a Cube, of course.

  5. LordRobin “SameSame: Classic can’t possibly be an issue as far as Intel Macs are concerned, because they can’t run it.”

True, but “Real Fan Boy” did not state if he had an Intel-Based Mac or not, and SameSame as stated is running a G5.

  6. I just got the 2.16 MBP and did the SMC firmware update. Tried to install Boot Camp and can’t do it because it doesn’t recognise that I have the new firmware, which is already installed. FYI I’ve also installed Paralells and it seems to work fine. Anyone have any solution that will allow me to install/open Boot Camp Assistant?
