iPod Garage to evolve into iProng on May 8th

“After more than two years of operation, iPod Garage has announced that it will change its name to iProng on May 8th, in order to reflect the fact that the iPod universe now centers around more than just the iPod itself. The name change is reflective of the fact that the iPod universe is now multi-pronged, equally comprised of the iPod, iTunes, podcasting, music, video, and more. To commemorate the name change, iPod Garage, (ahem) iProng will be giving away an iPod nano and other prizes,” Bill Palmer reports for “iProng.”

  1. Bill Palmer, retarded delusional.

So this guy is now “reviewing” iPod products on iProng, “selling” iPod products from HeadProng, and “selling” CD and DVD ripping services on LoadProng (formerly LoadPod). What a joke.

Hey Bill, why don’t you mail my company again with a threatening letter about what a big deal your site is.

  2. So I guess this shows how long it takes Apple’s lawyers to take down a third-rate site with iPod in the name: 2 years. Way to go Apple, keep up the pace and maybe all the iPod sites will be gone by 2016.

  3. If Apple forced them to change their name as they did iPodlounge just because they used iPod in their name then what about MacMall, or SecureMac.com, or Mactopia, or MacFixit, or MacInTouch, or MacWindows.com, or MacUpdate.com, or MacOSXhints.com, or MacWorld, or DealMac.com, or macnn.com, or MacDailyNews? When will it all end?

  4. ship – I would guess it’s because “Macintosh” and “Mac” were already established terms for products when Apple debuted the product. (Not being already content to use a company name that might cause problems with the Beatles’ record company, they chose a computer nickname that might have caused problems with the world’s largest fast food company — although the latter, to my knowledge, never happened.) If these sites simply had the word “pod” in their name, they’d probably be okay. But the name “iPod”, complete with diminutive “i”, never existed before Apple created and trademarked it.

  5. iProng sounds like a sex aid.

Bill Palmer… Where have I heard that name before? Oh, YEAH! He was the idiot that declared that the Mac mini was a disastrous decision and would be the end of Apple! Remind me again why I should listen to this proven moron?

  6. Bill Palmer…. what a maroon! he couldnt find his own ass in a phone booth if he used both hands. he’s as sharp as a bowling ball. has all the personality of a cinder block and half as smart.

…if anyone wants to join in on this train of thought, please be my guest.

  7. It’s probably a very apt name – like a garden fork you use to turn over the manure – his site is shite, he has no original ideas of his own, he has a bunch of schoolkids running his s(h)ite, he spends all his spare time in Disneyland (looking for new staff) and I’m sorry “Tempus Fugit”, he’s too fat to even fit in a phone booth…..

  8. 1) When iPodLounge changed its name to iLounge, this guy mocked the change and said he would never change the iPod Garage name. He is obsessed with iLounge.

    2) Who would trust someone who sells iPod accessories to review iPod accessories?

    3) That site constantly lies about how big and powerful it is. No one gives a crap about them. It is a bunch of 15 year old kids stealing content and ideas from other sites, mostly iLounge.

My feeling: good riddance, iPod Garage. I hope you and your founder find your way down the same toilet to oblivion.
