  1. I assume the SIMS Collection will run under Rosetta on a Core Duo.

Hint: SIMs 2 University won’t install on a Core Duo (complains about wrong processor) BUT you can install it on a G4/G5 and FireWire it across to a Core Duo and it works just dandy (my teen daughter has used it for a few weeks just fine). I hope they update their installer and put a patch on Aspyr support until the UB update is out.

  2. >Holy Mackerel

Yesterday’s Aspyr newsletter said the universal binary patch for Sims 2 “should be available by the time you read this.” It’s not, but it sounds really close. Also, Open for Business (the latest expansion) looks like it’s going to miss its ship date. It has been in alpha for a long time… UB out of the box?

  3. “The fact that the new entry level Mini’s don’t play 3-D games well doesn’t bode well for Mac games. I don’t think things are going to get better anytime soon.”

I have a 1.25 Mhz mini w/1 GB ram and I run The Sims and Sims 2 on it just fine. No problems at all.
