“I just happened to stop by the Apple Store to lust…whoops, I mean…covet….umm, no……I mean….ADMIRE the MacBook Pro,” Scott Hodge writes in his blog. “As I was crossing Michigan Avenue [Chicago] I almost walked right into a taxi when I saw this [image on left].”
“Turns out to be some clever marketing for the new iPod Hi-Fi,” Hodge reports.

I saw them setting up that window on my lunch hour the other week. It’s neat but not really all that impressive from a merchandising standpoint.
Geez, talk about ‘marketing impact’.
I just hope that the illusion doesn’t become the reality ! Otherwise someone will be busy sweeping up…
It is really the all-seeing eye of Steve Jobs.
Same thing at the new Apple Store in Dallas Northpark Center – was on display at the March 4 Grand Opening. Made some heads turn there, too.
My guess is that upon sighting a butt-ugly HiFi in the store, a terrified iMac crashed through the window like a bat out of hell, out the mall, and down the street shrieking at the top of its lungs. The HiFi has no business having an Apple logo on it.
It is more like the minute they learned of the ridiculously short battery life of the new laptops he commited windowcide.
Yea, they had that setup at the Apple store in South Park mall in Charlotte, NC…
And some a-hole was blaring Red Hot Chili Peppers out of one of those things….needless to say it was pretty loud.
that thing is ugly and expensive and not practical

Or maybe now that they’re on intels, we can really see that OSX is like broken Windows…
Okay, just kidding. And I’m not sputnik.
I think the word is defenestration.
murdered my mother. that’s why i hate it. plus i love a good bandwagon.
Only Chris Gorogs head could make a hole that big.
Somebody probably tossed that 14 lb beast back to Apple after hearing it didn’t sound any better at home.
Meh! We all *know* Windows is broken!
His first name was Sauron before he changed it to Steve.
Actually that’s a REAL broken window, somebody took their iPod HiFi home, found out it sounded like Krapp, tried to return it and Apple refused.
The result is what you see.
True story, or will be.
You decide.
