“UBS raised its price target on Apple Computer to $100 from $86 and kept a buy rating on the stock, citing Apple’s revenue guidance,” Dow Jones reports.

UBS’s price target hike follows “Apple’s announcement that it sold 14 million iPods and achieved revenues of $5.7B last quarter,” AppleInsider reports. “‘While expectations ran high heading into this keynote in terms of product possibilities, we believe Apple’s performance in 1Q06 far outweighs any product announcements made (or not made) at the event and should drive momentum in shares,’ analyst Ben Reitzes wrote in a research note sent to clients. ‘While no new iBook was introduced, it was offset by an iMac announcement and we believe an iBook is likely coming within a quarter or two anyway,” Reitzes wrote. “We had discussed a media hub, but the new Macs are so powerful — they are already hubs — and we continue to believe a hub should be coming later this year with Intel’s Viiv.’ The analyst said he continues to believe a new video download service and new iPod shuffle will also appear soon.”
AppleInsider reports, “For 2006, the firm raised its earnings-per-share (EPS) estimate to $2.33 from $2.10 based on 55-percent year-over-year revenue growth to $21.5B. For 2007, UBS estimates Apple to earn $2.80 a share based on 18-percent revenue growth to $25.8B. The firm maintains a ‘Buy’ rating on Apple stock.”

AAPL: $70.3B DELL: $73.24B
As I write this (16:43 GMT), Apple’s market cap has just broken through the $70 billion mark ($70.26 to be pedantic) at a share price of $83.37.
Apple is now worth more than Oracle who are lagging behind at $64.65 billion which will give Steve and Larry something to talk over when they next meet up.
But, even more amusingly, Apple is now only $2.96 billion behind our old friends at Dell Computer.
329 days ago, Apple was only worth 35% of Dell’s $100 billion plus market cap. And now, here we are – less than a year later – with Apple worth nearly 96% of Dell’s $73.2 billion.
It’s curious, but we haven’t heard anything from Michael Dell of late: No advice to Steve Jobs about how to run his company. No advice to Apple shareholders. Nothing. And yet, even now, I’m trying to find a phone number for Dell so I can ring their esteemed leader for investment advice…
If it doesn’t split soon I think I’ll just take a pair of scissors and cut all my certificates in half.
Viiv. Pronounced Vive. Did Intel give Apple sh*t-name disease or something?
Sits smiling

Well, we predicted $100 (within 18 months) just after the split…

Black Guy raised its price target on Apple Computer to $200 from $86 and kept a buy rating on the stock, citing Apple’s revenue guidance,” Dow Jones reports.
Why is a company like Gaygle worth so much? Stocks are a strange animal. One would think Apple would have broken the $100 ceiling by now. Apple has growth potential for days but alas, what do iKnow.
