“Amazon.com Inc. said holiday sales worldwide set a record this year on demand for Apple Computer Inc.’s iPod music players, video games and jewelry,” Jeannine Defoe reports for Bloomberg News. “Shoppers bought more than 108 million items between Nov. 1 and Christmas, the Seattle-based online retailer said. The company did not provide revenue figures. The busiest single day was Dec. 12, when customers ordered 3.6 million items.”
Defoe reports, “Different models of iPods were the top three-selling items in electronics for Amazon.com. Overall, online sales in the nation are expected to jump 24 percent, to about $19 billion, in November and December as the convenience of Internet shopping and free shipping lured consumers, according to ComScore Networks Inc. The most popular goods on the Web include clothing, electronics and toys.”

According to Amazon’s press release, the ever-popular-yet-nonexistent “Apple 3 GB iPod Nano (Black)” was the top seller (it was either the 2GB or the 4GB model, there is no 3GB model), the video-capable Apple 30 GB iPod (Black) was the number two seller, and the 512 MB iPod shuffle grabbed third position.

I feel like a parrot, this story and this post is a dupe.
Plus with no thank you’s for story submissions either, must be someone else at the helm of MDN.
In Health and Personal Care, the Panasonic ER411NC Nose and Ear Hair Groomer, the Rayovac Sportsman LED Headlight, and Sonicare Elite 7500 Power Toothbrush were top sellers.

Don’t expect great math abilities in a press release. They also probably think Apple’s business relies mostly on marketshare numbers too.
