Apple releases Mac OS X 10.4.3

Happy Halloween! Apple today released Mac OS X 10.4.3 Update which delivers overall improved reliability and compatibility for Mac OS X v10.4 and is recommended for all users.

It includes fixes for:

– AFP, SMB/CIFS, NFS and FTP network file services
– AirPort and Bluetooth wireless access
– Core Graphics, Core Audio, Core Image, and RAW camera support
– disc recording when creating and burning media
– .Mac sync services
– Spotlight indexing and searching
– Dashboard widgets: Dictionary, Flight Tracker, Stickies, and Unit Converter
– Address Book, AppleScript, Automator, Dictionary, Font Book, iCal, iSync, Mail, and Safari applications
– Disk Utility, Keychain Access, Migration Assistant, and Software Update
– compatibility with third party applications and devices
– previous standalone security updates

Mac OS X 10.4.3 is available via Software Update (97MB) and also as a standalone installer. Two versions of the installer (Delta and Combo) are available from Apple Downloads as standalone updates. After you download an update, you can use it to update your computer without being connected to the Internet:
• The Delta Update installer (97MB) updates Mac OS X 10.4.2 to 10.4.3.
• The Combo Update installer (109MB) updates Mac OS X 10.4, 10.4.1, or 10.4.2 to 10.4.3 .

  2. Hopefully this will clear up all the “bugs” and will clear up the bottlenecks in the current system. Will be waiting a few days watching Macfixit. Then, time to upgrade to Tiger for all us Panther lovers…

  3. My combo download of the standard OS (for other computers I administer) also didn’t fully download. Meanwhile, I am now using SU to download the OS 10.4.3 Server update – which is 121 MB.

  4. I downloaded and installed it and now my items sitting on my desktop are spaced really far apart and I can’t do anything to put them back close together – I guess i will have to keep less items out there.
