Apple today released Backup 3.0.1 which addresses file restoration and other issues and is highly recommended for all users of Backup 3.0. Significant areas addressed are:
• Restoring files to alternate location
• Accuracy of iDisk progress bar when uploading files

Power just returned in my neighjborhood after Wilma! I have never been so happy to see ANY news about Backup!
Hey, my MW is “back” how appropriate!
3rd baby yeah!
Locked back-up software sucks’
Get CCC carbon copy cloner – it is free and it blows Backup
Sweet… works great. Finally backs up to an alternate location
What a shitty, inflexible application. I think this takes the cake in “I’m a moron so hold my hand” interfaces.
I JUST SPENT 3 AND A HALF HOURS TRYING TO SET UP MY GIRLFRINDS WIRELESS NETWORK ON HER NEW LAPTOP. IT STILL DOES NOT WORK BECAUSE XP CAN NOT FIND THE ROUTER… I PLUGGED IN MY APPLE AND BOOM THERE IT IS…
if she only would have got an apple. they need to make them a little cheaper…
I HATE MICROSOFT:
Just buy her a Mac for Christmas. She’ll love you forever.
>if she only would have got an apple. they need to make them a little cheaper…>
Less expensive, but definitely not cheaper.
You get what you pay for.
The new Backup has worked fine for me, except that it doesn’t appear to be able to restore anything if lost. I inadvertently deleted some smart playlists for my nano from iTunes and tried to restore from Backup. It went through the process, but no restoration of the playlists… what’s this app for again?
In addition, the incremental backups (nice idea, poorly implemented) fill up your available backup space until you are forced to go in and manually do a new master backup and erase the old. Can’t this be automated somehow? I suppose I could go the automator route, but if the app were better, I wouldn’t have to.
Apple needs to fiddle with this a little more…
Hey guys, I am doing a project for my marketing class on the nano…if you have a nano or have experience/opinions on it, please fill this survey out for our group:

Do they have support for compressing the backup files yet?
1:1 is a waste of space.
