  1. I already did this a few days ago. It was delivered today!

    I got the PowerBook G4 1.5GHz/ 512MB/ 80GB/ SuperDrive/ AP Extreme Card/ GigE/ 17-inch/ Aluminum for $1,999.00.

    Not a mark on it. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />

  2. Buying a refurbished 30″ Apple display with no AppleCare is not a good decision.

Of course if you buy it with a PowerMac at the same time the AppleCare will cover the Apple monitor.

There is no standlone AppleCare for their monitors, it’s most likely they are trying to reduce the costs of AppleCare because of the crappie PC’s and their video cards on Apple hardware.

The quality of PC hardware is nothing but appaling, any fool with a soldering iron and website can sell a 100,000 cheap cards to the overwhelming inferior WinPC crowd.

  3. This is just the Deals section from the apple website, old models and refurbs.

Check amazon, they have $100-$200 mail in rebates, a9 discounts and charge no sales tax in most states. You can order a new 20″ imac for $1650 shipped.

  4. Hey everybody – it’s the weekend and MDN has posted yet another “new” story about the special deals at Apple, and the ever so convienently linked to every blasted product with their special affiliate tracking links! There’s impartial news for ya.

Go to Amazon. You’ll save having to pay the ‘special’ commission to MDN.

And btw., this is not news.

  5. Almost almost * almost * bought a new Mac mini, but opted instead to upgrade my G4 Cube (again) with a Radeon 9500 and, get ready, a 20″ apple cinema display. WOW. I am tricked out.
The original processor in this G4 cube, a 450 Mhz, is still just fine for all possible uses except burning DVD’s. It’s still the coolest thing around. Yay me.

  6. That must be why MDN closes the article with:

“MacDailyNews is an Apple Store Affiliate and, if you buy something from the Apple Store within 24-hours after clicking one of the links to the Apple Store above, MacDailyNews will receive the usual affiliate percentage from Apple (same as if you clicked on the Apple Store ad at the top right of all pages or any side Apple Store ad). It costs nothing more to buy, MDN just gets a cut from Apple.

I want MDN to get the commission!

  7. “It costs nothing more to buy, MDN just gets a cut from Apple.”

Utter BS. Gee, why do I think it was MDN who wrote that….

The very first thing listed, the 20GB iPod with Click Wheel, costs $269.00 thru the MDN commission affiliate link versus $239.99 at Amazon, or $209.99 if you get an Amazon Visa at the same time!

I don’t have a problem with MDN trying to make a buck, I have a problem with them listing this alongside all the other news in precisely the same format, making it appear as a newsworthy sale, rather than just the cash grab it is, brief statement at the very, very bottom notwithstanding. If anything should be news, it should be that you can all that stuff at Amazon way cheaper!!!

    Totally deceptive. Totally unethical.

  8. RE: MDN BS

Take a pill, dude. Glad you’re happy with Amazon, but a few bucks isn’t the end of the world, you know. How much money have you donated to world causes this year? My guess is none, unless you donate all your Amazon “savings”. I doubt it.
