Apple releases Keynote 2.0.2, Pages 1.0.2 Updates

Apple today released Keynote 2.0.2 Update which can be downloaded and installed using Software Update (available) or from Apple Downloads (not currently posted). Apple also released Pages 1.0.2 Update via Software Update which tells us only that “Pages 1.0.2 addresses issues with page navigation and organization.”

According to Apple, the update addresses an issue whereby a maliciously modified Keynote presentation could be constructed to retrieve files from the local system:

With a specially crafted Keynote presentation and the use of the “keynote:” URI handler, it is possible that local files could be read and then sent to an arbitrary network location. This issue has been addressed in two ways: References to external resources have been limited, and the registration of the “keynote:” URI handler has been removed. This issue does not affect Keynote versions prior to Keynote 2. Credit to David Remahl (http://www.remahl.se/david) for reporting this issue.

  1. Thankss funny mac..I actually moved them out of the folder since I hated having the extra step of opening that folder to see them. I wonder why Apple can;t just let them reside as separate apps.
