MacDailyNews Take: A reminder — even though it won’t stop the “Mac mini is a failure” articles reported with barely-contained glee from the usual suspects — Mac mini unit sales for the current quarter are constrained as Apple ramps up production from various reports. Estimates on the high end for Mac mini unit shipments range from around 150,000 units (Credit Suisse First Boston) to 200,000 units (Banc of America) for this quarter. The real story of the Mac mini won’t actually become clear until later this year.

  1. Waiting for Tiger……so are more than five of my “PC only” friends now waiting to get a mac. Strange……losing information that cost them some money really changed there minds-FAST!

    COME ON TIGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Yup – couldn’t agree more ‘598. I’m sure there are plenty of people out there just waiting to buy a mini until after Tiger is released. Makes sense to me.

  3. I’m waiting for my savings to grow. If I can time this right, everything should be in place about May 15th. I should be getting a 15″ Powerbook and a Mac mini, hopefully with Tiger pre-installed.

Of course by than the WWDC will be close and maybe I’ll wait for the new product announcements.

  4. I like most (magic word) are waiting for Tiger, why buy one now when I can wait and get Tiger & iLife.

    Do the math Mini 499.00
    less Tiger 129.00
    less iLife 79.00

    Net Cost 291.00

    Sweet!
