64 x 42.72 = 2734.08
2734.08 – 500 = a total profit of 2234.08
I should’ve invested a lot more than $500 ( shoulda, coulda, woulda – I know … )
Well, I got my 23″ Apple cinema display paid for anyways.
I got a 23″ display this way, too.
JJ: You forgot to deduct about 30% capital gains tax that you will pay on your $2,234.08 when you cash in your stock.
Plus minus your commissions when buying and selling.
1000 x 7.49 = 7,490.00
1000 x 42.43 = 42,430.00
Profit = 34,940 – 14.95 (eTrade comm) = 34,925.05
Round numbers are nice.
But their stock has split twice since it was down to 7.49.
What are the actual numbers?
Thank you MDN, the Apple stock ticker was good idea
$7.49 is the adjusted post-split basis price I paid. I paid $14.98 before the split back in 2003 for 500 shares. The dollars remain the same regardless.
I might add that I invested the $7500 on the strength of the switch to a Unix-based operating system, and that was with long term intentions. Even though the iPod is the current and recent analyst darling product, it is a short term phenomenon. I reiterate that “It’s the OS, Stupid.” AAPL will gain significant market share over the next 5 years in its core business as Microsoft continues to be in denial about its security problems, stagnates and declines. AAPL will continue to innovate, produce, and reap growing profits.

And how is Ann doing these days?
BTW: Ronald is a newly wed. Give him your blessing!
Okay
1,000,000 x 13 = 13,000,000
6,000,000 x 42.18 =
One hell of a lot of money…so why am I hanging around at some mac fan chat site bragging to people I do not know and who cannot prove that I am making all this up?
braggart: ‘Cause you’re a tool.
to Spelunking Troglodyte: correct!
braggart: I have to admit — that’s one hell of a funny way to put an end to the discussion. Very good.
