The Sims 2 for Mac OS X goes beta

The Sims 2 for Mac has hit beta status. In The Sims 2, players for the first time ever control their Sims over an entire lifetime taking them through life’s greatest moments.

Every choice that is made has a relevant and dramatic effect on the life of a Sim. Players can now fulfill their Sims’ life dreams as they take them from the cradle to the grave. More life-like Sims, all-new aspirations gameplay and the ground-breaking addition of genetics, with the DNA of Sims passed down through generations, gives players a more vivid, realistic, and in-depth Sims experience. All of this takes place in a new amazingly realistic 3-D world.

Players can create and play their own virtual sitcom by choosing one of five different aspirations – Popularity, Fortune, Family, Knowledge, and Romance. These aspirations in life cause your Sims to have wants and fears. Will you give them a long successful existence or leave their life in shambles?

  1. It’s only in beta – it will be availabel in May still. You’ve still got 2 or more months to wait, if Aspyr doesn’t push it back another month like they did Doom 3/

  2. 1 Ghz or faster?

    Crap….my flat panel iMac won’t handle this game then. It’s 800 mhz. Maybe time to upgrade to a Mini? ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />

  3. I gave up waiting for mac games and just built a winXP box with left over drive/CD/ram from my G4 towers..sits side by side in my computer room at home…

PC games come out sooner and end up in the clearance bin just when the mac versions are being released for full price. Turned out cheaper than buying a PS2

  4. Me13, the Windows version has been out for almost a year now and the first expansion has already been released for it=\ Loads of fun, hopefully Aspyre can get it ready in a timely manner.
