The new iPod rocks. I saw it last night at one of the mini stores.
Microsoft rocks and will rule all of you suckers.
quiet down there BJ
ha, BJ. nice name.
This’ll be my first iPod. A sweet 60GB system.

SiliconAddict:
I think it should be the former. Remember how everyone complained about the original iPod, as well as the iPod mini.
We all know what happened with those two

Everyone in the real IT world knows that the iPod is for amateurs. Plug-and-play may work well for someone’s grandmother, but an experienced professional wants to be able to sit with installation scripts that last for hours. Apple can keep its kiddieware.

Regarding Billie Joe: Funny link about “one OS to rule them all”… Bill Gates does look a wee bit like Sauron. Just shoter. And more dumpy.
One OS to rule them all,
One OS to find them,
One OS to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

Hey Baklava, go put on your Hobbit costume, grab your 30 sided dice, and have a wet dream about Xena!
And go comb your pube ‘stache!
Sputnik:
If Apple makes kiddieware, then Microsoft must make wasteware. Why in all of Gods green earth do you want to spend four hours doing scripts and never enjoy what the device does. PLAY Music. As for the rest of you pc users. Get out there and “play for sure” and then later “regret for sure”. nuff said!
P.S. Jon E Wunnut, Xena is hot, its not 30 sided dice, but the 20 that lets you win all the time and the Hobbit costume is always in style!
Baklava,
huh? Either that are you are insane or just joking. Can’t really tell. ???
Yeah, the Hobbit costume is always in style if you are a LOSER!!!!
Go back to the basement with all your pasty white prepubescent friends and listen to the dungeon master! And beware the level 7 dwarf with the magic ax of homos.
Jon E Wunnut
Get a iLife.
Oh, and how is your Hobbit costume this year?
…and clearly you have never roled, so don’t make fun of what you don’t know. By the way, what is a homos? Do you mean homo, its hard to be one, check the name!
is it just me, or has every topic realitated to this new ipod photo ben a battle between mac and peecee?
It’s just you.
Besides, what battle, it’s not even close.
Who’s ben and what the fuck does realitated mean.
LOL Jon

SA,
I like Coldplay too. But please, no ‘Politik’!
Oh and, c’mon guys. Sputnik is having a laugh.

LOL! Cola on screen via nose!
Yawn.
ipod … useless….
Yawn…
who has time to talk about iPods when San Andreas just came out?
Regarding Breen’s comment about restoring the iPod for use with the other platform (Mac -> PC, or PC -> Mac):
“This has never been the case for other iPods. If you format your iPod for Windows, it mounts on a Mac and works almost exactly like an iPod formatted for the Mac”
Incredibly incorrect. Does a Windows-formatted iPod (FAT32) “work” on a Mac? Sure, since Mac OS X can read FAT32 just fine – but is an unsupported configuration, which you won’t get any help with, if things go wrong. And (as mentioned) performance is worse, and you lose functionality. Why would you want to do this? If you want your iPod to work on a Mac, format it for the Mac.
C’mon folks: Quit making false statements about the functionality of these great devices, which could result in some users getting screwed. This provision (no support for cross-platform use) has _ALWAYS_ been the case. If you really think you need to share an iPod between a Mac and Windows box, and if you choose to ignore the warnings, go right ahead – but don’t complain when the famous ease-of-use the Apple developers are known for doesn’t appear to apply in your UNSUPPORTED configuration.

Here is one good reason for Adobe to keep making Photoshop Elements for the Mac: Apple just gave PC users a reason to buy the software. Adobe should continue making Elements for OS X to keep this association with the iPod Photo; I doubt they want to be the next Musicmatch.
Sol:
Solution: iPhoto for Windows.
One more piece of software that “just works – really well” for the PC, and it just so happens to come from “that other computer maker”. That should clarify a point that is already clear.
And the photo “cross platform incompatibility” issue(?) would be resolved as well.
