  1. If I remember right, Adobe didn’t offer an upgrade path between 1 and 2 and it sounds like they aren’t doing it again. I guess I’ll just wait until the rebates start and the price goes down before I buy (as what happened with Version 2). Great product, I just hope there is an upgrade price, but from what I’ve seen, it doesn’t look like it.

  2. For cheap software like Photoshop Elements there is no need to offer upgrade prices. If you do not want to pay full price then do not buy it. It is not like this version is dramatically different to version 2.

  3. “it’s also $10 cheaper than the Windows version. Why’s that???”

    Cause Windows users deserve to be milked ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />

  4. I use Fireworks and Elements. Photoshop is for graphic pros; way too many features and expensive now. Good review here on new features:

Why is there no upgrade price for Mac? Why is the price higher for Windows users (besides the fact that they require much more support).

    Never mind.

Oh, and why do businesses announce stuff like this two months in advance? Do they get that many pre-orders? I’ll just wait’ll it shows up at the Apple Store.

  5. Haven’t read anything about that yet. Photoshop screams on my new dual 2.5 PMG5. Still, they have to have some basic differentiation. Elements users won’t have files quite the same size as the pro Mac users and won’t use as many filters, etc. It looks like Elements has many of the features of the full-on Photoshop of just a few years ago.
