RollerCoaster 2000 screensaver now available for Mac OS X

Thanks to Etienne Petitjean RollerCoaster 2000 is now available as a free screen saver for Mac OS X. You can download the package to be installed or the source code. Enhancements have been made compared to the Windows version of the screen saver, such as a random mode for track selection.

  1. Seen this, done that… Saw the “null” bug myself. I had to extract the screensaver with Pacicfits, I didn’t know that backtracking then reselecting was the key…

Anyways, I only have an Ati Rage 128, so I didn’t see any great difference (none, actually) between Petitjean’s RollerCoaster 2000 and Subsume.com’s own version of this port, called RollerCoaster, that I installed last May.

Both versions are identical on my machine, and work great! I however did feel that RollerCoaster 2000 (528KB) stutters a tiny bit more than Subsume’s RollerCoaster (384KB), and judging by the difference in size, I was wondering if the latest version had some additional eye-candy vivible only on Radeon or nVidia cards…
