Forbes speculates on PowerBook and Panther announcements at Apple Expo Paris

“Apple Computer announced product updates to two of its most popular product lines Monday, and, as usual, it did so against the backdrop of rumors that other products are in the offing. Apple pushed the speed limits of its consumer-level computer, the iMac, and increased the capacity of is high-end and midlevel iPod digital music players,” Arik Hesseldahl reports for Forbes.com.

“And Apple may not be done with new product news for the rest of the month. The Paris Apple Expo gets underway next week, and Chief Executive Steve Jobs is expected to give another of his highly anticipated keynote speeches on Sept. 16. He rarely shows up for such a speech without several product announcements in hand. Rumor mills are focused on updates to Apple software, but Apple’s PowerBook line seems about due for some updates as well. We’re also close to the time that Apple should be announcing the next major update of its operating system, Mac OS X version 10.3, aka Panther. In short, expect more news from Apple very soon,” Hesseldahl reports.

  2. Ah C’mon the 12″ PowerBook IS different than the iBook….. The power connector is on the OTHER side of the case….. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />
