  1. Hmmm… and the writers of this article, like a number before it, are assuming that MS will use the same ‘rules of fair-use’ that applies to iTMS purchases, which we already know is not the case.

    Micro$oft’s proposed business model for online music delivery would see consumers ‘renting’ music, rather than owning it, has excessively restrictive terms of use, and will use the inferior and proprietary Windows Media format. Who can say MS hostage?

    I’m sure that if MS does manage to convince music executives to jump onboard, it will sell well to the Windows diehards (who obviously suffer from Stockholm syndrome), but for the rest of the community the bricks and mortar music shop will still be the preferred option… until iTMS for Windows comes along that is.
