I'll tell you the truth from personal experience, those young gangs who prey on others only learn empathy after something terribly horrible physically happens to them.

They all big in the group, but take a body part from each of them and see how bad ass they are after that.

The death of the victim is a tragedy, of course. But others can learn from what may have been the victim's fatal mistake.

A human life is more important than an iPod! If it were me, I would have given the gang the iPod without resistance. The iPod and the songs on it could have been replaced. But now there is nobody to listen to them. :-(

This story has absolutely nothing to do with iPod. The bottom line is that if you give any device to a large enough percentage of the general population, the chances that one of those devices will center in a violent crime becomes statistically probable. In the early days of cell phones, there were probably a few people who were murdered for those as well. It's a shame, but it's nothing new, and it's got nothing to do with iPod, per se.

Earlier this year there were news about Myspace.com incidents, i think one of them was a murder. I guess anything popular ends up associating to everyday human life.

Apple and Nike are a good match. People have killed for both their products.

A early test of the Quad Core Conroe that will most likely make it's way into the next Mac Pro (PowerMac G5 replacement) here shortly.

I think it would be rather temptating of Apple to put two of these in a Mac Pro. (8 cores total!)

What I suspect Apple will do is again provide three Mac Pro models,

two will be Quad Cores and the very high end will be 8 cores.

They have done this twice before

Single 1.6 and 1.8 Dual 2 (when PowerMac G5 first released)

Dual 2, Dual 2.3 and Quad. (like right now)

New line up

QuadTel, QuadTel and Dual QuadTel

Just giving up your wallet or your iPod or whatever the mugger is asking for doesn't always work. Here in Philadelphia, I am friends with one of the highest ranking police officers on the force. According to him, nearly 50% of the time the person who was shot or stabbed in a robbery complied with the mugger. They don't want to be ID'ed in a line-up!

It is obvious that there are iPods running around with no useful playing purpose. These devices are extremely dangerous and should be removed from the market immediately. In addition, Apple should be held responsible for producing such a dangerous product. When will the government finally take charge against Apple for killing people? Really backs up the story I heard several months ago where people in the news were having their ipods ripped off on NYC subways and either the police, transit authority or the news media were telling people to wear headphones of any color other than the trademark iPod white.

first of all, i'm not good enough to comment on retribution or justice cos i've done wrongs too...but to kill someone is just not the right thing to .
