Scroll wheel / keypad thing ain't right. What's with the overlapping half-buttons?

Is it just me, or does it look like the front - including the iPod-like display and touch wheel - flips up? Stupid question - do they make 2-way LCD's? If so, that pretty damn cool.

well those new images are different from the 2 engadget had.. i think..

but really.. the XBOX comparaisons are obvious..

which makes you think..noooo Apple wouldn't do that...

What's the betting that the itunes functionality will use the scroll wheel and be ipod like but that all the regular phone functions will be like any crappy phone and force you to use the stupid joystick type controller and be a pain in the ass?

The five images other than the main wide phone shot are exclusive to MDN. Haven't seen them anywhere else - and I've been looking hard!

To those of you who say it's not an exclusive citing yesterday's report - well, yesterday's report was rumor-based. I'm assuming MDN has more solid evidence to back this up (like the additional photos, we got more today than yesterday).

So yesterday = rumor

Today = Fact / More Fact-ious (i.e. exlusive!)

Not an exclusive, its been all over. I read and saw the images on Slashdot around 4am this morning. I believe someone already announced them as fake already as well.

This design is sadly non-Apple in many ways, not that we were ever promissed it would be.

Still, many things make me suspicious of it.

First, the Apple logo on the visualizer - looks like a very high res screen so _I_ say either the image is super imposed or it is a total fake.

Second, THREE inputs? there are keys, a "scroll wheel" inlay, and a joystick. This is complex as hell! plus there are buttons on the side too!!! Perhaps this model is an interface demo unit for trying to figure out what is the most natural way to perform user input functions.

Lastly, I do think one thing is very cool about the unit - the integration of plastic and nylon is done quite well.

please god no.... this thing is horrendous. What the hell is up with the nipple/joystick... yea...that will never break off when you slide the phone in your pocket.

Go to Displays and change you color to 256 then go look at the Podcast icon in iTunes Prefrences.... Its not the podcast but an White Cell phone . Im not kidding. It changes depending on what setting you monitor is......

...it isn't Apple hardware. It's using iTunes for mobiles, but is Moto hardware.

I pray to God that's a fake. Ugly, complicated and too big. Plus, the buttons on the left side are accessible only while the unit is held in the right hand — obviously biased against us lefties! You won't see that thing for sale in the Leftorium.

i can't imagine this phone to come out like this, since the joystick would break the first time you pull it out of your pocket. Other phonemakers put in a small indention in order to protect it.

I see TONS of photoshop work in these images. Fakes circulated to create hysteria.

Somehow I don't see the need for all those buttons on the side. With a touchpad/click wheel, you'd get all the functionality of a phone and an iPod player. Those buttons look like they come from a tape player or a camera phone.

Or its under the wheel. Look at the section around the nub. Looks like it slides down. God people. Stop being stupid tools and wait for the thing to be announced.

This doesn't look like the real thing to me.

Open the pictures in photoshop and a child will see that is a fake. forget it, this is not the real motorola apple phone but a bad work in photoshop with a lot of mistakes!

OK. So, I did the iTunes prefs in 1000s of colors and the Podcasts icon is simply the Podcasts icon. No change. Someone here B.S.ing?

OK. So, the 1000s of colors is 256 colors and it works. What about that "Everything Apple" watermark on the posted image? Any clues on that?

I think the hottest part is that USB dealy in the bottom right pic. Guess we all know how it'll transfer to iTunes now. so much for bluetooth transfer....

How do you dial? I see no alpha numeric buttons. If they were smart they would build it off the razr. Look how small the shuffle is and how easy it would be to integrate it into a sleek phone.

I hope this isn't the real deal.

To all the people worried about the fakeness/authenticity of this ROKR, understand that these photos seem to be of a prototype. There is a possibility that the form factor has since been tweaked and that the colours of the production model will be different. Just a matter of waiting and seeing...
