“AH” provides a link to a scan of the PDF of the actual article and emphasizes “the article itself is NOT A FAKE. If the information EGM is relaying to it’s readers is incorrect is another matter. But this article will be in the April 06 issue of EGM. So save the “it’s Photoshopped”, “FAKED” nonsense. Don’t believe it will happen? Fine. But the article, and that’s all I am reporting on here, will happen.”

Apple has done one article prior to the product announcement. This article was leaked one day ahead (Time Magazine put it up on their website too soon). It was the iMac G5.
I can’t believe this because:
1)This is not Time Magazine
2)The product anouncement is in May (?) and the article is to be released in April (?)
Apple does not like to show its hand prior to a release. Plus, if the product cannot ship in a time close to the announcement, it allows Apple to pull the announcement and wait until there is a product to release.

game developers would have been involved long ago – I doubt this would not have leaked before that (I’m assuming Apple would not announce a device such as this a year ahead of release or whatever would be the minimal time necessary to port games from other platforms)

If this device was going to be announced at a trade show in May, Apple WOULD NEVER allow an April issue of a magazine (which would hit the newstands before April) to publish the information.
Remember the Time debacle of a few years ago with the G4 iMac (and that his stands only hours before the announcement).

Apple NEVER places ads for a product prior to at least announcing it. No way this is real.
Plus, the buttons on the right of the unit are not evenly spaced (top one is too far left), the control pad is straight off of a Game Boy, and the Apple logo is tilted too far for the screen.

I’m actully not entirely convinced it’s a fake. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if it wasn’t. I am highly doubtful of th supposed 6G iPod floating around. I think that this would be more advanced enough for Apple to justify a new model so soon after the 5G. It would provide game playing ability on top of a bigger screen. But heck I could be wrong.

Everyone, EGM has a April Fool’s Joke every year. A year or so ago, they had an cheat that unlocked Sonic for Super Smash Brothers: Melee.
This is obviously a fake. Also, when you subscribe to EGM, you get the issue a lot earlier than the newsstands. A friend of mine just got it. I’ve seen it. Its obviously their April Fool’s Joke.
