  1. Sell now folks while you can. As great as Apple is, there is no way they can match the hype that is out about what they are about to release. To the stock market that means death. By wednesday next week AAPL will likely be around $67.

When you own AAPL shares and understand the first thing about trading, then give advice. Until then, I’d keep quiet. Similar siren calls of failure have been heard and proved wrong so many times that anyone who follows this mantra with AAPL has to have their head examined. Look what happened after Apple announced the Mac mini last expo. Or the iPod nano in summer. You may be right, or wrong, but there is no science behind your call at all. You might as well say “buy” when the sun rises and “sell” when it sets, for all the accuracy you would have.

  3. Shipwithsails: what you say might be correct for the next 10 days.

After that the shares are going in one direction only until the marketmakers fancy another short term correction to paste some profits.

  4. Buy weeks before macworld , sell right before macworld. Then right after macworld it often takes a little dive, the re buy some then… it is almost always works like that…

  5. Let’s not forget we’re getting a double-wammy in the next couple of weeks: Q1FY06 results will be announced shortly after MWSF.

We’ll get to see if Gene Munster’s call is correct: “Investors believe the easy money has been made, but we see more upside potential in Apple’s business, and sentiment suggesting that growth has peaked leads us to believe that Apple shares will respond positively to any outperformance.”

  6. Apple is going to shock some people…I keep saying that and you can be sure it’s true. Lot’s of predictions of course…but remember when the Nano came out? And when they debuted the ipod with video? They brought out OTHER news those days. The Nano came out on the day of the iTunes phone. The ipod with video came out with the announcement of the media partnership with ABC. In those cases the most important aspect of the event was well hidden until the actual day. That’s going to be true this time too.
Prepare to be amazed…and very pleased…and happy you bought Apple stock when it was only 76 bucks a share.

  7. They´re a Buyin´on rumor, next week sellin´on fact.

Remember: The much anticipated, vaunted, waited for, delayed by Steve, iTunes phone was a total flop. (The new version doesn´t even use iTunes…Motorola has its own service).

  8. Im holding onto my AAPL for the long term. The only thing that really will take the wind out of its sails for the next 5 years is if something were to happen to Steve.

Otherwise I expect to be able to slingshot my nest egg into the next level

  9. Roughly half of my net worth is in AAPL. I do not pretend to have enough information to play the wiggles in the market. I am a long term investor. I stuck with Apple even in the awful times, because I thought they had a vision that would pay off. Now, it is.
