Original window = late '06 to early '07
Original anticipation = in time for holidays
Current anticipation = early '07, after MWSF

But, HEY! If Microsoft can slip their delivery date, why can't Apple?
AND! If Redmond is going to give Apple the extra months to run more testing, should we complain if Cupertino chooses to use some of it?

Am I remembering things wrong? I could've sworn the realistic target for Leopard was always January/February of next year. Getting it out in the fall was never more than a best-case possibility that some fanboys leapt upon that as their fondest fantasy.

It is relatively easy to make an application in Automator that will do batch renaming. I have had several occasions were I needed to rename over 200 photos at once. I do not use iPhoto very often because I use Photoshop Elements 3 to add effects to my photos.

PSE 3 is a wonderful program but it cannot be trusted for batch renaming of photos because, even with all options but filename deactivated/blank, the quality of the photos is lessened (more artifacts, less detail, etc).

Because of this workflow situation and Finder's inability to do batch renaming, I went to Automator. Within five minutes I had written an application for batch renaming of any file. All I have to do when I want to rename a group of files is drag and drop on the application.

Apple stated at WWDC 2005 (through a spokesperson after Steve's keynote) that they anticipated Leopard would be released in "late 2006 or early 2007". This timeframe has never changed. The only thing that has changed is the date of the promised (by Steve at WWDC 2005) preview of Leopard. It has always been slated for WWDC 2006, but the date was pushed back from June to August.
