Apple CEO Tim Cook joins President Trump’s American Worker advisory board

“The chief executives of Apple Inc, Walmart Inc, IBM Corp and other major companies are joining a Trump administration advisory board that hopes to prepare U.S. workers to deal with job training issues and the workforce shift brought by artificial intelligence and automation, the U.S. Commerce Department said on Wednesday,” David Shepardson reports for Reuters.

“”President Donald Trump signed an executive order in July creating the 25-member board, co-chaired by adviser Ivanka Trump and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, to address workforce issues including ‘automation, and artificial intelligence that is shaping many industries,'” Shepardson reports. “Other chief executives joining the board are those of Lockheed Martin Corp, Siemens USA, Home Depot Inc and Visa Inc.”

“The board members will serve until 2020 and will work with the administration’s National Council for the American Worker ‘to develop and implement a strategy to revamp the American workforce to better meet the challenges of the 21st century,'” Shepardson reports. “Trump’s executive order said ‘for too long, our country’s education and job training programs have prepared Americans for the economy of the past.'”

“Ivanka Trump said in a statement the administration wants ‘all Americans to have the skills and opportunities to secure good paying jobs and successfully navigate technological disruptions and the rapidly changing nature of work,'” Shepardson reports. “Also joining are the chief executives of the Chamber of Commerce and National Association of Manufacturers, as well as the governors of Iowa and Indiana.”

    1. regardless of the poly-ticks, for whomever he is appointed to blahblahblah, [please can we skip the partisanship on this thread?] I wish he’d just stick to running, tuning and guiding Apple.

  1. Because labor is excluded from Dumb’s National Council for the American Worker, it should be renamed to the “National Council for the American Slave.” This shenanigan stacked with corporate types can be likened to Dem. Obama’s health care committee stacked with pro-health insurance industry types such as Dem. Pelosi and Dem. Baucus and excluded any spokespeople from the National Single Payer leadership, you know, people who actually need pre-paid doctor’s care.

  2. President Trump never stops working for the American worker! How refreshing after so many years where only lip service was paid by politicians while policies that hollowed out the middle class continued to be implemented. History will not be kind to the likes of Barack Hussein Obama.

    1. When you say that history will not be kind to the likes of bareback obummer is that cause you plan to wipe out the libtards in your country like you are wiping out the population of Iraq?

Might be a good reelection platform, Make America Genocidal Always.

Oh and congratulations on Trump announcing that there was no weapons of mass destruction program in Iraq.

“President Bush had intel people that said Saddam Hussein, in Iraq, had nuclear weapons –had all sorts of weapons of mass destruction. Guess what? Those intel people didn’t know what the hell they were doing, and they got us tied up in a war that we should have never been in.”

So I guess the shrub is making history as the first modern day leader to totally get away with genocide. We can start forgetting about Hitler just as soon as you get the numbers in Iraq up, but don’t worry, I hear that the first million or so innocent victims of genocide take the longest.

Way to go Tim Cook, I’m sure that Trump will bring the same level of success to the American Worker advisory board as he did to his business advisory council.

And as Valentine’s day is a holiday of love I guess it’s a day of mourning or something in Apple’s home country but Happy Valentine’s day for those that do celebrate it and know or remember the value of love.

    2. Are you among these people ready to follow a human failure?
Are you standing for the American workers, or for those who are making billions on the back of workingpoors?
Apparently, Trump also had to be a canker in history (his dad may have bought him a good grade – like other branches, to get his degrees?). Like the Great Wall of China, and many others, this kind of obstacle even more to the implosion of empires. Isolationism has proved its destructive effectiveness… but, bah! Trump believes in his megalomania, and thinks it will be different this time. Letting him do it might be the most radical way to get rid of the crowd of fools who follow him in his delusion!

  3. Shaddup, applecynicwanka. Your opinions are about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike, and an Obumma in office. Why arent you an Androidcynic, Or is that too simple for your simple brain to handle?
