“If you thought Apple’s last couple of years were big, just wait for 2017,” Shara Tibken writes for CNET.
“The launch of the large-screen iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in late 2014 caused Apple’s fortunes to soar,” Tibken writes. “It became the most profitable company in the world, and the following year, with the 6S and 6S Plus, was even bigger. But enthusiasm waned in 2016 with iPhone unit sales falling for the first time since the device hit the market in 2007.”
“This past year was largely a time for refinements for Apple, not entirely new markets. But 2017 could be a completely different story. If all the rumors about the company’s product lines are true, next year could be Apple’s biggest — ever,” Tibken writes. “Think, radically redesigned iPhones, revamped iPads and new product categories. And 2017 could be a big year for software and services, too.”

MacDailyNews Take: Yup.
As we wrote yesterday: 2016 is the nadir for Apple… In fact, we emphatically believe that will not be the case.

Apple hasn’t done shit since Jobs died, and 2017 will be the same as 2016.
A big nothing.
One look at Apple financials in the last 7 years sure makes you out looking the total fool. Still, I do think of 2017 as a make or break year in regards to new (and importantly DESIRABLE) desktop Macs.
Yes, they have lived well off of Job’s creations.
Without Jobs, Cook is lost at sea and the last several years show it.
Enjoy your new Surface. Buh-bye. If you hate Apple so much, why are you here?
Thinking Apple hasn’t done enough is not hate, it’s disappointment. I’ve been using and evangelizing Apple products since before 1984, and won’t stop any time soon, but my enthusiasm has waned. I do hope 2017 will rekindle that old feeling.
Maybe they haven’t done shit, but they have proven that it is profitable. Heh.
Agreed. Cook sucks. He’s killing off Macs, ditching the Airports. I “see” nothing special about Apple in 2017. Same old iphone crap. Tim Cook doesn’t get it and never will.
With Tim Cook at the helm one can hope for a positive change….considering Apple’s prospects are now in the decline. So sad.
I too want to believe that 2017 will be different but Cook has over-promised and under-delivered too many times. I don’t trust him with overseeing Apple anymore.
Who Do you trust? You KNOW nothing, including WTF is really going on. Most people don’t.
I know you’re a frustrated loudmouth idiot talking out of your ass. See, I DO know something.
siro siro – Dazed and confused!
we would help if we could but i bet you’ll continue to walk in darkness till you last dayz.

YES, with 10,000 new emojis being released in 2017, Apple will have a very productive year.
Years ago we almost lost our Macs due to bankruptcy. Now we might lose our Macs due to success.
