“Apple is widely expected to reveal the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus at an event on September the 9th,” Ewan Spence writes for Forbes.
“Leaks via networks in the UK,Germany, and Japan, all point to at the new iOS devices going on sale on September 18th. This matches similar patterns in previous iPhone launches with handsets going on sale less than two weeks after the big reveal,” Spence writes. “In previous years Apple has opened up a pre-order reservation system online to help manage the stock on the first day.”
Spence writes, “Following up on the rumors, and looking at previous release patterns, Apple fans can pencil in Friday 11th September as the day that pre-orders will open for the new iOS 9 powered handsets.”

MacDailyNews Take: See you at midnight Pacific on whatever day per-orders start!
9/11? Are you kidding?
I will be very very tired that day.. Tired and giddy.
I’ll be there too.💥😱🎉😃
So where’s the official announcement?
We don’t need no stinking announcements. We just watch the iPhone pages at Apple.com. You’ll know it’s time when it goes into “we’ll be right back” mode.
I can’t imagine anyone would be stupid enough to use September 11 to announce or make available any product. Too many other memories associated with that day, and way too soon.
Get over it.
Pay the day respect, but get on with life. That was nearly 15 years ago. The same year Apple opened it’s 1st retail store. Some of Apple’s customers weren’t even born then.
Right, people born after it happened are already driving on the road, and people who were born before it but were too young to know about it or understand it are adults, some able to drink at bars.
Forbes is a rag.
