Getting the banks on board first was essential. I would say that is job done.
Next is building out the retailers which is more of a challenge. 68 is good but there is still a long way to go.
I won’t be getting an iPay capable phone for at least a year but hopefully the Apple Watch will make up for that. It will be interesting how well Apple Pay works.
I finally got to use Passbook for the first time on a trip last week. It worked well except for the lack of notification of a gate change. I was wondering why we weren’t boarding and luckily refreshed the airline app and found that they have switched gates. I will definitely check more frequently in future but I consider that a fail for Passbook.
iPay?
Didn’t the big screen behind the counter inform you that you were at the wrong gate? You don’t need your phone to know if you’re sitting in front of the correct gate.
Depending on the retailer’s product, they “might” be picking a time between now and end of year that is their slow season to do the checkout upgrades.
Raley’s, that’s a surprise. I shop at one of their sister brands, brands, Bel Air. They have had the new card readers for quite some time. I “test” it every now and then.
And yet Lady Footlocker had me to sign a store copy of their receipt when I used ApplePay! Was a real shock, because I never had to sign with ApplePay before at McDonalds.
I’ve never had to sign using a credit/debit card at Mcdonald’s.
Don’t see what your point is.
Looks like Wile E. Coyote can buy his equipment faster now!
