Apple seeds OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 beta with focus on Wi-Fi, Mail and VoiceOver

“Apple on Wednesday issued a new beta build of its upcoming OS X 10.10.2 maintenance update, once again asking developers to focus on Wi-Fi, Mail and VoiceOver alongside general system compatibility testing,” AppleInsider reports.

“With the latest OS X 10.10.2 beta, dubbed build 14C94b, testers are being asked to focus on Wi-Fi, Mail and VoiceOver implementations, all areas of concern addressed in the last pre-release version issued in December,” AppleInsider reports. “Customers have complained of Wi-Fi connectivity issues since OS X Yosemite launched in October, with some users reporting slow speeds and dropped connections. A subsequent update attempted to patch complications for both Wi-Fi and Mail in November, but problems persisted.”

    1. Why do you have this “bad feeling”? Historically, Apple has been pretty good at quickly squashing bugs after a new OS release. Some of these bugs are certainly overdue for fixing. But the WiFi worked better with the previous version of the OS code, so it seems reasonable that Apple has been able to improve WiFi functionality – they already know how to do it.

      1. No Steve Job’s Apple had a great track record quickly squashing bugs after a new OS release.

Tim Cook’s Apple has a record compatible to Microsoft in the late 90s.

Steve to him not to run Apple like him, and damn it, he listen to him.

      2. Steve Job’s Apple had a great record squashing bugs quickly.

Tim Cooks track record is in line of Microsoft in the late 90s.

Steve told Tim not to run Apple like him…and he’s not.

    1. Your comment makes no sense. Yosemite is MacOS X 10.10, MacOS 6 ran on Macs from the early 90s. So, presumably you’re mishmashing iOS 6 with iOS 8, which has nothing to do with this thread. So, whining for whining’s sake, I guess.

      1. he is joking..
i am an apple fan for 10 years now and i haven’t used my macbook since October. why? cause it’s pretty USELESS without internet access. yosemite is the least ready OS apple ever made.
it’s funny because i had developer preview builds and had no problems. the final release screwed my mac

      1. that may be true but does not change the fact that apple did not pay attention to yosemite. they should finally accept that it is IMPOSSIBLE to ship a new OS every year. Both microsoft and apple are giving us junk the last years

    2. Ah yes…. The DAYZ of the Mac Plus with 4mb of RAM with a 100mb external hard drive. Then the SE, SE 30 (the rocket ship Mac), the Classic, LC, IIsi, IIci (which iStill own & WORKS!) & the IIfx which was my favorite Macintosh. There were others the IIcx etc.. But that was the main lineup when I sold those bad ass computers in the 90’s. I miss those dayz. 😝

      1. I miss those days. There was a certain elegance to the simplicity of the Mac OS back then. My Mac Plus, the AWESOME LaCie 20MB external SCSI hard drive I had it sitting on, HyperCard applications. Most of the software was so intuitive you never needed a manual – just a little thought and playtime (favourites in our lab were Bookends, StatWorks and FileMaker). Heady days, those were.

    1. System 7 was indeed a leap forward. Do you neophytes realize too that Apple Computer Inc. was one of the first companies to make digital photography a viable consumer product? Apple One Take? No color just 256 levels of gray. It was remarkable @ the time. Phone net was also slick. Kids are Fckin spoiled ROTTEN! today. “MYYYY WIIIIFIIII IS NOT WORKING RIIIIGHT!” Pfff Cry me a fckn river.

  1. Never had a problem on multiple Mac’s with wi-fi connections, the only issue I saw was where one Mac showed up more than once in the sidebar of other Mac’s if shared, and the last update fixed that..
