The [below] screenshot claiming to represent iOS 8 just showed up on a Weibo account,” Mark Gurman reports for 9to5Mac.
“Even though the source of the images is absolutely uncertain, I have confirmed with several sources that these shots are legitimate,” Gurman reports. “Earlier today, I detailed the new Preview and TextEdit apps shown above, and I previously discussed Healthbook.”
Gurman reports, “I’ll have more news on Healthbook in the coming weeks. Until then, you can check out a higher-resolution mockup of the Healthbook icon below. I’m not sure what the Tips icon is for, but it is probably a user-guide of some sort. Of course, it’s plausible that the icons are works in progress.”

Why is this fake? because the icons are so ‘iOS,’ aren’t they?
So weird. Tips?! To use an iPhone? … TextEdit.? Why is this being posted on MDN? This is so corny. Mocked up by an Android user, I assume.
ha ha …., fake as hell
Finally, a tips calculator. With an icon that shows Apple recognizes the importance of good lighting to the dining experience.
A tips calculator. Banned in Australia 🙂
Finally, a tips app that will improve my chances at the Belmont Stakes. It has to be better than relying on the cabbie.
Nah. It’s stock tips. BYKAID
Is pOS8 going to change the background color of folders from a light color to dark gray no matter what when “reduce transparency” is tuned on too?
What a stupid bug.
Healthbook looks too much like Passbook. Would be confusing.
So let’s be glad iOS 8 isn’t even in beta.
Please Apple: Get rid of the neo-monotonal boring iOS icons. The Ives experiment is over. The yawning is not going to stop. I’ve grown extremely tired of them. Monotonous.

You LIKE monotony? iOS is capable of icons that look 3D!
As a designer of over 20 years, I find iOS 7 icons clean, simple, and instantly accessible; not monotonous at all.
iOS certainly is capable of icons that look 3D. It’s also capable of actual 3D icons that spin around like dreidels when you touch them, but that doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.
Well, Apple would have to create an API for developers to access for actual 3D icons. But you are correct.
2D 8 bit icons: Been there, done that for decades. Monotony amidst the riches of superior technology. 2D 8 bit icons does not equate to good taste. That’s another subject entirely.
Soooo fake… the Preview and TextEdit icons are simply copied from Mac OS and do not even begin to attempt the iOS 7 aesthetic. And look at the confusion in the article and comments about Tips: some think it’s for calculating service tips (despite the icon being a light bulb) whereas others think it’s a manual of sorts (which Apple have never offered).
Are tech journalists getting dumber and dumber along with their readership?
