Thieves stealing €70,000 of Apple products out of the back of a truck – at full speed on German autobahn

“Some ‘James Bond’ thievery was reported in Germany yesterday,” 9to5Mac reports.

“According to the story, thieves pulled up behind a moving truck carrying Apple products on its way to the Czech Republic,” 9to5Mac reports. “They then got out and climbed onto the hood of the SUV, broke open the truck’s door and removed about 160 iPads and iPhones, all while the truck driver was unaware and unable to see anything happening.”

9to5Mac reports, “The Google translation [“Californian cult group”] is almost as entertaining as the video re-enactment.”

MacDailyNews Take: The Google translation (see full article) reads like a John Dvorak article and the video reenactment looks like it was lifted out of an episode of Top Gear.

After they serve their time, these guys should get a TV show or at least jobs as stuntmen.

    1. You’ve obviously never driven a big truck because you’re not going to hear or feel 200lbs moving in the back of a 3 tonne + truck.

When I was a teen I jumped on the back of a UPS truck and took a ride through the neighbourhood until the driver stopped. He had no idea I was there. Stupid, but fun 🙂

  1. I declare shenanigans! Unless people saw this actually happen, there is no way they pulled this off. I think some of the truck drivers buddies met him along the way and off loaded the merchandise. He and others made up this story as a cover.

  2. The video is from a similar case in Romania that was recorded by the police. The guys who stole the Apple products from the truck in Germany have not been caught….
It was said there are about 50 similar cases in one the German states (North Rhine-Westphalia). Crazy…
