iPhone 5S and 5-inch iPhone 6 to launch in 2013, source says

Arnold Kim reports for MacRumors, “Brightwire translates a report from the Chinese media which claims that Apple will be launching both an iPhone 5S and a 5″ iPhone 6 this year:”

- A source told Chinese mobile phone information site Laoyaoba.com that he has seen the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 at Apple’s suppliers. Both models may be released in 2013, according to the website’s microblog on Thursday evening.
- The source noted that the iPhone 5S resembles the iPhone 5, and the five-inch iPhone 6 is lighter and thinner.

Kim reports, “This rumor adds to a chorus of reports that Apple is seriously considering a larger form-factor iPhone in the near future.”

  Yes, it is a major question whether Apple will be able to sustain themselves long enough to release an iPhone 6. I’d put it at 5% that they can last that long, what with Tim Cook ruining the company and all.

As a stockholder I worry how WS would respond if they didn’t come out with a 5″ iPhone. Once they do Android won’t have anywhere to go and hopefully would be left standing with their pockets turned out and mouth’s agape. 6″ Android phone would be stupid. I would think 5″ ifs the end of the size game and still retain some amount of portable pocketability. Your pocket size may vary.

  Rumour: Apple is coming out with a yard long iPhone to compete with Android big phones. It will be 6 inches wide and come with optional pants to pocket it. Be on the lookout for new purse designs too. Apple has to follow the industry you know. They never made it to where they are by taking the lead.

If they’re going to make it thinner, I’d almost like them to do a version with a bigger batter at the same thickness as the iPhone 5. I’m not near to upgrading again for a year or two, and although my battery easily lasts a day it would be nice to have days of battery.

    I don’t want to have to wrap my phone in a large case. Thinner is nicer, but at what cost? They could make it thinner as it is (connectors aside) if they put an hour long battery in it, but they don’t why not leave it as is, but tout week long battery life or something?

I would definitely buy a larger IPhone, and it really frustrates me when some of you think you have all the answers to Apple. How many times have there been post that Apple will not release by a certain time or the IPhone will not look a certain way or Apple would never release a iPad mini, etc! All the while, they are making ridiculous profits in doing so! If they can do it and offer to the masses what they want, then great.

I personally would love for Apple to get rid of the Home Button and make a Virtual Home Button or Gesture or put the home button the right side of the iPhone and increase the screen size to the borders. But It is only a suggestion!

Also, I hope that the larger iPhone will be no more than $50 more because some of use are not wealthy stockholders and are average Joes who like to enjoy Great products without settling for 2nd best!

Seriously, though, there is just no way that Apple would call 5″ iPhone with the next number, and not classic-sized one. Though, Apple’s naming became insane lately, so there is way for that. ))

Along with an ipad 6; ipad mini 2 and maybe a 3rd! Next year….ipad 7 and 8….ipad mini 4 and maybe a 5th….iphone 6s, 7…..spot the pattern….so predictable!!!! Perhaps Apple will develop.an app where you can just give money to them. I wonder how many months Apple expects its followers to own a device and then happily splash the cash for another insignificant upgrade….fools.

well whatsinever they release will(or better) have a larger screen and they will say how “now was the right time for a larger screen” (not just longer…really Apple, longer?) and how they did “larger different and right and don’t forget thinner…its got to be thinner…thinness over practicality right apple. and they will cap off the presentation before the fanboys with a douchey “are you happy nowwwww”.

fanboys will line up, it will sell out and nothing will change. tim cook will still be ceo.
