RUMOR: Apple’s Sprint-compatible iPad ready for launch

“Apple and Sprint have completed work on a version of the iPad for Sprint’s data network,” Mark Gurman reports for 9to5Mac.

“This Sprint compatible iPad appears to be ready for public consumption and will join the family of GSM (AT&T) and Verizon capable Apple tablets before the holidays,” Gurman reports. “With Apple soon launching a Sprint version of the iPhone – which we independently confirmed in June – we suspect that the Sprint iPad will come alongside or soon after that release.”

Gurman reports, “The iPhone 5 release is still scheduled for October 7th according to our source (and others), but changes/delays are always possible.”

    1. I hope so. Sprint is a great sponsor of NASCAR (American auto racing series) and I am sure the drivers would love to actually be caught with an iPhone.

I’ve been with ATT forever and doubt I could change due to international travel.

  1. When the media will ever tire of these rumours?

“Sprint is ready for iPhone 5”
“Sprint prepares for the launch of iPhone 4”
“Sprint calls off vacations to start selling iPods”

    and now this iPad thing.

  2. Ive heard that Sprint did a good job making their network better. A few year ago, service was shit, but now it is ok, at least where I live. What has set them back is lack of awesome smart phones. They got the EVO but that hasn’t been enough. I hope Sprint doesn’t kick unlimited. I’d love to get an umlimited data iPad.
