  1. Jim, i owe you a beer mate! Last night it would not log in to the apps for like the system was down (although i know it wasn’t). After your message, went in and had 2 updates waiting. Downloaded the updates and all back to normal.

Mrharm, this is only latest 3G phone bought in July.

All back to normal now and loving my iPhone again.

  2. Stuart, I am glad I was able to help! I might just take you up on that beer, LOL.

I should have mentioned that I also have a 16GB 3G phone. Just picked it up last month, so it does seem to be affecting both generations of the phone for some of us.

And, loving my iPhone again as well 😀

  3. I happened to test my other SIM cards and found out, that now only the original SIM card works on my 3G :-O Not that it matters much, except all calls would be now made over “Skype” and I have to forward the incomings to my regular phone. One thing that I don’t like about the iPhone as a phone is it’s size, that’s why I have a tiny Chinese TCL phone in my shirt pocket while the iPhone is in my gig bag.

Tthis update is not what Steve was saying: “We are not going to make cheaper products, just adding value on them”.

Oh well. I heard one problem with China Mobile negotiations with Apple is, that you must be able to swap to a different SIM card as people have multiple SIMs, one for their home town and one for where they live and work. If you live in Hong Kong/Shenzhen/Macao/Guangzhou, that is even more obvious, one country three systems.

Anyway, 2.2 update works as advertised, more stable with some apps that I had crashing.
